Director, Social Strategy

NYC/HYBRID

Who We Are

We’re not looking for someone to join the conversation. We’re looking for someone who shapes it.

At M Booth, our Social Strategy Directors don’t just follow trends—they build brands into cultural forces.

If you live online, think at the speed of memes, and know how to turn insights into impact, you’ll find a home here.

At M Booth, we are a culture-first communications agency built on courage, ideas, respect, and humanity. We work with some of the world’s best brands—and even better people—to drive meaningful change through modern storytelling.

We thrive on moving fast, thinking boldly, and creating strategies that stay ahead of a constantly shifting culture. We’re proud to be a hybrid workforce focused on how we lead and inspire, not where. Our philosophy—Be IRL (Inspired, Relevant Leaders)—pushes us to be intentional about connection, collaboration, and creativity.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Social Strategy Director to join our growing team and lead bold, culture-driving work for top CPG brands.

This role is built for a social-native strategist who doesn’t just react to culture—but actively shapes it. You’ll drive integrated, social-first strategies that unlock growth, build communities, and make brands part of the conversation.

You’ll also play a lead role in client management, team development, innovation in tools and processes, and new business growth.

What You’ll Do

Lead Social-First Strategy

  • Develop and lead integrated social strategies that drive business growth and cultural relevance for CPG brands
  • Build tailored playbooks combining paid, earned, and organic approaches, with a strong POV on brand voice and platform behavior
  • Proactively spot and translate social trends—memes, moments, behaviors—into brand opportunities that move fast and hit hard
  • Bring AI tools into your workflow to sharpen insights, produce POVs faster, and drive better creative and media outcomes

Own Creative + Measurement Strategy

  • Collaborate closely with creative, digital, influencer, and media teams to shape campaigns optimized for platform, culture, and audience behavior
  • Establish KPIs and measurement frameworks to show real impact—not just vanity metrics
  • Lead real-time optimization during campaigns, delivering insights that make the work smarter mid-flight
  • Guide influencer strategy, from partner identification to partnership frameworks that feel native to the brand and audience

Lead Client Relationships

  • Serve as a key client-facing lead, delivering strategic counsel, ideas, insights, and performance reporting
  • Anticipate client needs and proactively push thinking forward, not just answer briefs
  • Present clearly, confidently, and persuasively across meetings, presentations, and workshops

Build the Team and the Future

  • Mentor and develop the next generation of social strategists across the agency
  • Drive innovation in our approach to platform strategy, community building, creator partnerships, and cultural engagement
  • Contribute to agency thought leadership and new business pitches, bringing a sharp, culture-first POV to every conversation

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in social media strategy, digital marketing, or communications, ideally with CPG or consumer brand experience
  • Deep fluency in social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Meta, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X) and emerging spaces
  • Passion for internet culture—you live and breathe trends, memes, creators, and the shifting digital landscape
  • Strong presentation, writing, and communication skills, with comfort presenting in-person or on-camera
  • Proven success managing multi-platform campaigns and delivering measurable results
  • Hands-on experience with social management and analytics platforms (e.g., Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Infegy Atlas)
  • Ability to work fast, think ahead, and juggle priorities in a high-velocity environment
  • Desire to not just lead teams but shape how the agency shows up in social strategy

What We’ll Bring

  • A culture alive with bold ideas, respect, and momentum
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits
  • 401(k) with match, flexible spending accounts, and unlimited PTO
  • Paid holidays, Summer Fridays, and family leave programs
  • Hybrid work environment centered on intentional collaboration in NYC and beyond
  • A platform for personal growth and industry leadership

Salary Range: $101,000–$135,000

Our Flexible Work Policy:

We believe that our best work happens in a hybrid working environment. If you are in the NYC (or commutable surrounding distance) hub we want to see you in person 2 days a week. That could mean in our office, in our client's office, on the road with them or attending an industry event.

For those outside the NYC hub, you will be asked to be in person too. Examples of this may include client meetings, events or team meetings. There will also be in person opportunities for you to connect with others who live in your hub to collaborate and work together.

If you plan on working remotely, we can accept applicants from the following states:

Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Washington D.C

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
