Strategic Partnerships Lead
We are actively recruiting for an experienced Strategic Partnerships leader to join the Mercury Partnerships team. In 2025, we plan to launch several new channels that will expand our audience and open up new partnership opportunities for Mercury. We are excited to chat with seasoned Partnerships professionals that have deep experience launching new programs from 0-1. A key channel we will be focusing on this year is Ecommerce. This will be the first channel you will focus on as a Strategic Partnerships lead.
You will:
- Strategic Planning: Leverage your vast partnerships experience to build a strategic plan that highlights the key industries and companies we will target, lists the incentives & product value props we will use to differentiate ourselves from the competition, and illustrates how we will grow the channel over time. You will own the relationship end-to-end, beginning with initial partnership scoping, negotiation, signing, launch, and ongoing partner management.
- Strategic Partnership Management: Effective at building and maintaining senior-level relationships with strategic partners to drive joint revenue opportunities. Has a proven track record of developing and executing a unique strategy for each partner, including business planning, co-sell motions, and enablement initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Values working closely with product, marketing, and other relevant teams to align on strategic initiatives that drive deeper technical integrations and differentiated value propositions.
- Ecosystem Strategy & Innovation: Can identify and assess emerging strategic partners that align with Mercury's business goals and technology vision. Actively track industry trends and competitive dynamics to inform partnership strategies and priorities.
- Product: You are a product expert, well-versed in all of the potential ways companies can integrate and partner with Mercury, including API integrations. In addition, you prioritize customer feedback and pain points and can work cross-functionally with product and engineering to prioritize Partner & client feedback thus improving Mercury’s feature set and creating more delightful user experiences for Partners and clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience
- Ecommerce experience a plus as this will be the first channel you inherit.
- Fintech experience a plus
- You are comfortable with change and can adapt. You should assume priorities will change with little notice. You are comfortable operating in that environment.
- Experience managing large, diverse, and strategic partner relationships
- Be adept at solving ambiguous problems and building for scale
- Highly entrepreneurial and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to thrive under minimal guidance
- Communicate with clarity and purpose in both written and verbal communication
