What You’ll Do

As a Business Development Representative, you’ll play an important role in generating new business opportunities and helping prospective customers discover the value of Minitab’s solutions. You’ll work closely with sales and marketing teams in a collaborative, team-oriented environment while developing valuable sales and business skills.

In This Role, You Will:

Lead Management

  • Identify, pursue, and qualify leads and contacts through successful execution of Minitab’s Customer Engagement Lifecycle as part of a virtual account team.
  • Position Minitab solutions effectively to drive high conversion rates from leads to qualified pipeline opportunities through strong product and solution messaging.
  • Collaborate regularly with members of the virtual account team to discuss inbound and outbound leads.
  • Maintain an accurate, documented pipeline within CRM systems, providing real-time visibility to management and field sales teams.
  • Continuously develop competitive knowledge, including installed competitors and their initiatives, to effectively position Minitab solutions.
  • Promote awareness of Minitab’s full product portfolio and services with customers and prospects.

Territory Management

  • Manage and track all active and nurture leads within assigned territories.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, contacts, and lead history.
  • Drive the progression of marketing qualified leads into sales qualified opportunities.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key influencers and stakeholders across target accounts.
  • Actively support Minitab marketing campaigns, promotions, and events.

Personal Development

  • Develop and maintain an Individual Business Plan outlining business and professional goals in collaboration with management.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of industry trends, solution offerings, and general business practices.

Qualifications

  • Entry-level candidates are considered. 
  • 1+ years of experience in a customer-facing or business development role preferred, demonstrating fundamental skills in positioning and closing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or IT preferred, Associates degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and cloud-based collaboration tools (OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams).  
  • Business Intelligence or Statistics experience preferred. 
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehending English.
