Community Associate, Part-Time

Newlab is seeking a highly organized and adaptable part-time Community Associate to support our community. This role focuses primarily on managing customer service from the front desk, but may handle event support and administrative tasks. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in collaborative environments, is excited about community building, and enjoys the opportunity to work on many projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Services & Community Support

  • Welcome and assist visitors, members, and guests, managing check-ins 
  • Provide front-desk coverage, field incoming calls, and efficiently relay member requests.
  • Troubleshoot and assist with member inquiries, including room bookings and communication
  • Swiftly attend to member and guest requests through personal interactions, email, digital platform communications, and our in-house customer service platforms
  • Assist in generating guest passes for group visits and tours.
  • Identify and help streamline day-to-day operational processes to keep the front desk running smoothly
  • Provide occasional support to Newlab staff, ensuring efficient and organized workplace

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Passionate about critical technologies, startup innovation, and climate impact
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexible schedule, with availability to work evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Our space often hosts member events, so the ability to multitask effectively, balance day-to-day responsibilities while adapting in real time to a lively, collaborative atmosphere is required.

This is an in-office position. $20 hour/20 hours a week.
