Who You Are: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for vendor invoice processing, managing the payables system, and maintaining a high level of vendor and employee satisfaction with the payables process.
What You're Good At:
- Following established procedures to process invoices daily, ensuring accuracy and an appropriate level of approval.
- Monitoring the shared AP email inbox for timely invoice intake.
- Monitoring vendor purchase orders, receipts and supporting documents
- Monitoring vendor accounts and statements for missing invoices and other irregularities
- Resolving vendor issues by monitoring email communications and performing independent research
- Ensuring all transactions comply with company and federal financial policies, procedures, and accounting controls
- Communicating with internal and external customers, verbally and in writing
- Performing ad hoc duties as requested by management
What You Contribute:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
- 1 - 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or related field
- Experience with an ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent work ethic, attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective internal and external relationships through exceptional communication, both verbal and written
- Possesses a strong business acumen, is adaptable and learns quickly
- Ability to work cooperatively on a team/cross-functional level and at an individual level as needed
- Proactive and anticipates results of their action or inaction
