Role: Digital Product Designer 

Location: Toronto, ON (remote)

 

About the role: 

You'll be the user advocate behind digital products and experiences that simplify complex processes and drive meaningful engagement. Working at the intersection of user research, business strategy, and technical feasibility, you'll translate user needs and business requirements into elegant design solutions that perform. We're looking for someone who can balance user empathy with commercial awareness, finding design approaches that delight users while achieving conversion and retention goals. Success means consistently delivering products that test well, perform strongly, and contribute to measurable business growth. 

 

What you will be doing: 

  • Design end-to-end user experiences for web and mobile products that improve usability, conversion, and customer satisfaction 
  • Work with marketing and creative leadership to implement brand standards across UX design requests 
  •  Conduct user research including interviews, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions and validate solutions  
  •  Create comprehensive design systems and component libraries that ensure consistency and efficiency across digital touchpoints  
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that communicate user flows and interaction patterns effectively 
  • Collaborate closely with product managers to translate business requirements into user-centered design solutions 
  •  Partner with development teams to ensure design feasibility and maintain quality through the build process  
  •  Map customer journeys and identify opportunities to improve user experience and business outcomes  
  •  Present design concepts and research findings to stakeholders, articulating user needs and design rationale clearly  
  •  Iterate designs based on user feedback, analytics data, and A/B test results to optimize performance  
  • Establish accessibility standards and inclusive design practices that serve diverse user needs effectively 
  • Have the ability to implement UX Design into brand/design standards 

 

What you need to be great in this role: 

  •  A strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design process and outcomes across web and mobile platforms, with clear examples of problem-solving and iteration  
  •  Advanced proficiency in design and prototyping tools including Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and prototyping platforms like Principle or ProtoPie  
  • Solid foundation in UX research methods including user interviews, usability testing, journey mapping, and data analysis 
  • Experience designing responsive web experiences and native mobile applications with understanding of platform conventions 
  • Knowledge of front-end development capabilities and constraints, with ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams 
  • Proventrack recordof using analytics and user data to inform design decisions and measure success  
  • Understanding of conversion optimization principles and experience designing for business metrics including retention and engagement 
  • Strong systems thinking with experience creating and maintaining design systems and component libraries  
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to advocate for user needs across diverse stakeholder groups 
  • Experience working in agile development environments with familiarity of product development cycles
  • Financial sector experience preferred: Understanding of financial services user needs, regulatory requirements, security considerations, and compliance constraints is valued but not essential. 
  •  Advanced proficiency with AI design tools (Figma AI, Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT for research synthesis) to enhance ideation, prototyping, and user research analysis  
  •  Agentic approach to product challenges: systematically analyzing user problems, identifying optimal design solutions, and executing with clear user-centered reasoning  
  • Experience using AI for user research synthesis, persona development, and design iteration to improve workflow efficiency 
  •  Ability to guide teams in responsible AI adoption for design processes while maintaining user focus and design quality  
  • Strong understanding of AI capabilities and limitations in product design, with emphasis on human insight and user empathy
  • At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from $89,250.00 CAD to $99,750.00 CAD. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of OLIVER’s total compensation package.
