About the position:
Our SEO team, part of the Diner Growth collective at OpenTable, is looking for a QA Engineer who will help us on the mission to connect diners and restaurants by building amazing discovery experiences.
This is the first QA Engineer position we open for the team and we consider this a key role: you will be encouraged to set up best practices and work with the team to improve QA and testing across the board.
You will work as part of our SEO team located between London, Berlin and Kaunas. We are laser-focused on achieving growth for OpenTable by acquiring potential diners via good ranking, coverage and click-through rates on search engine result pages.
Nobody knows everything in our teams, and we don't expect you to either. You'll be encouraged to learn on the job, and we have two dedicated days at the end of our sprints for people to explore, learn and be creative.
You'll help us:
- Ensure our pages and components work well across all browsers and devices;
- Validate SEO fundamentals like quality and consistency of page metadata;
- Ensure the content we provide to diners is of the highest quality, in all languages;
- Test that our page markup and structured data are consistently implemented;
- Audit our internal linking structures;
- Test and report on Load Time and Page Speed Optimizations;
- Perform usability testing;
- Test for correct implementation of product and design requirements for user flows.
You'll fit right in if you have:
- A team-first mindset, and a willingness to collaborate daily with developers, designers and product managers of all career levels;
- A proactive work ethic. As the team’s first and only QA engineer, you will need to actively create strategies for testing and finding issues, and working with the team to integrate them in the development process;
- Proven experience of 2+ years in software testing;
- Demonstrable experience in creating and executing comprehensive test plans and providing early feedback to the requirements;
- Hands-on experience in exploratory testing techniques;
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes, and more general software development best practices, like Agile and Kanban;
- Proficiency in written and spoken English;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail;
Additional “nice to have” skills:
- Programming experience of any kind;
- General knowledge of SEO and its best practices;
Benefits:
- Work from (almost) anywhere for up to 20 days per year
- Funds for your career growth
- Access to thousands of on-demand e-learnings
- Generous additional Health Insurance
- Flexible sick time off
- Additional financial support for your sick leave
- Additional day off on your birthday
- Company-wide vacation week once a year (winter holidays)
- Additional financial support during parental leave
- Free lunch twice a week and daily snacks at the office
- Free yoga twice a week
- Paid volunteering time
- No meeting Fridays
- Office and team events such as summer camp, KAYAK birthday, winter party and more!

- Company-paid subscription to HeadSpace
- Internal Communities
Compensation:
Depending on the experience, the salary range may start from 3000 EUR Gross to 3500 EUR Gross per month, plus a significant yearly bonus.
Salary range provided is not final and will be discussed during the process based on your skills and experience.
