About the Role

We’re looking for a self-driven, embedded Contract Senior Recruiter to own full-cycle hiring for technical, clinical, and business roles, with an immediate emphasis on high-priority technical searches. As the go-to talent partner for hiring managers across the company, you’ll run searches from first outreach through to signed offer, bringing creativity, speed, and precision to every hire.

You’ll play a critical role in shaping our team by identifying and engaging talent that contributes to both the diversity and success of Pelago, while ensuring a seamless and exceptional candidate experience. This role demands a recruiter who can manage 4–6 active roles per month, balance multiple functions, and adapt strategies quickly based on market feedback.

This is a 6-month contract with the potential to extend or convert to full-time. This is a hybrid, flexible role with an expectation of being in our NYC office two days per week.

In this role you will...

Drive Full-Cycle Recruiting

  • Lead full-cycle hiring across tech, clinical, and business roles, from sourcing and screening to interviews and closing.
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies for hard-to-fill and priority roles.
  • Adapt and pitch our EVP to attract top talent, negotiate offers, and maintain high acceptance rates.

Advise and Influence Hiring Decisions

  • Act as a consultative partner to hiring managers, advising on market trends, role design, and candidate positioning.
  • Use data to assess pipeline health and refine strategies for stronger recruiting outcomes.
  • Shape diverse, high-impact teams by identifying talent aligned with our mission.

Optimize Recruiting Processes

  • Collaborate with stakeholders - including VP+ and C-suite leaders - and partner closely with the People team to align hiring with company priorities.
  • Design structured, competency-based interview processes to improve consistency and quality of hires.
  • Optimize Greenhouse workflows, reporting, and metrics to track progress and efficiency.

The background we are looking for...

  • 6+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience with proven success filling diverse, complex roles across technical, clinical, and business functions, ideally within digital health or healthcare technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and close high-caliber technical talent (AI/ML hiring experience a plus) while navigating unique healthcare hiring requirements, including state-specific clinical credentialing.
  • Startup or high-growth experience, with the adaptability to thrive in evolving, fast-paced environments.
  • Expert sourcing skills using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, and creative, multi-platform outreach strategies.
  • Strong track record of partnering with and influencing hiring managers and senior leaders (VP+ and C-suite) while designing and implementing structured, competency-based interview processes.
  • Proficiency in Greenhouse ATS (or equivalent) with the ability to leverage recruitment metrics to assess performance and drive process improvements.

At this time, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

The provided range reflects our US target hourly range for this part-time position. Individual pay within the range will vary based on a variety of factors like role-related experience and education, internal pay equity, and other relevant business factors.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
