Summary of Position

Perry Ellis International is looking for a dynamic and experienced National Account Sales Manager to drive profitable growth within the Corporate Apparel Division. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of increasing sales, managing key relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. This role is crucial for expanding our market share by focusing on key national accounts and major buying groups. You will play a pivotal role in achieving a +20% sales increase while upholding the company’s profit objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Sales and Growth: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed revenue targets. Identify and secure large-scale corporate uniform and apparel programs across our portfolio of brands, including Callaway. Proactively explore long-term apparel category opportunities like bottoms and woven shirts.
  • Strengthen Relationships: Cultivate and nurture strong, lasting relationships with decision-makers at national accounts and major buying groups, focusing on enterprise-level end-users. Actively participate in all relevant trade shows and events to represent the brand and network.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Conduct thorough market research to identify new opportunities and provide valuable insights to sales management and merchandising teams. Collaborate with the design team to ensure our product lines meet the specific needs of national accounts. Assist in monthly product forecasting and inventory planning to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between national accounts and internal departments, proactively solving sales-related issues. Work with the Vice President to plan and execute sales meetings and develop competitive sales programs that drive revenue while maintaining profitability.
  • Digital Engagement: Maintain a forward-thinking approach by managing digital marketing and promotional calendars for each national account. Leverage digital and social media skills to engage with clients and promote our offerings.

Qualifications

  • Experience & Knowledge: A bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is required, along with 5-7 years of proven experience in corporate/ASI apparel sales. Deep knowledge of the ASI industry and sales processes is a must. Existing relationships with national accounts are a significant plus.
  • Skills & Abilities: You must be a skilled negotiator with the ability to collaborate effectively with key accounts to maximize sales and profitability. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as are excellent interpersonal skills for building rapport with both customers and internal staff.
  • Technical Proficiency: A working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Gmail, and Google Docs is required. You should also possess strong presentation skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Attributes: We need someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is critical.

Physical and Environmental Considerations

  • Travel: This role requires frequent domestic travel, estimated at 40-60% of the time, to attend client meetings, trade shows, and events.
  • Work Environment: The work environment is typical of a corporate office, with a moderate noise level. The ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift sample cases is required.
