Role Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and execution-oriented AI Innovation Platform Lead to drive our company-wide AI strategy. This role is pivotal in transforming PingCAP into an AI-native organization and directly commercializing our AI solutions. You will be responsible for leading initiatives across several core pillars: 1) Product and Partner Innovation, 2) AI Industry Revenue Generation & Market Expansion; 3) Online Service Development and Internal Enablement, and 4) Data-Driven Digital Foundation. A key component of this role is owning and achieving the growth for AI industry within the North American SMB market, bridging the gap between product innovation and revenue growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Product & Ecosystem Innovation:

  • Lead the strategy and execution for making TiDB the unified data platform for AI applications, including the development and release of AI SDKs.
  • Drive integrations with major OSS AI frameworks and establish technical partnerships with key AI partners & players.
  • Spearhead the development of innovative AI solutions and Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) that showcase TiDB's capabilities in the AI ecosystem.
  • Own and manage the AI product innovation pipeline (e.g., "Pantheon AI").

2. AI Industry Revenue Generation & Market Expansion:

  • Own and be responsible for achieving the AI Industry SMB Sales quota in the North American market.
  • Develop and execute the go-to-market (GTM) strategy for AI products in the NA SMB segment.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new sales opportunities, working closely with the sales and marketing teams to build a robust pipeline.
  • Translate product innovations and partner integrations into tangible value propositions and revenue streams.

3. Internal Enablement & Business Operations:

  • Champion the development of AI-powered tools to enhance internal operational efficiency, including pricing strategy assistants, sales chatbots, and automated workflow systems.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of critical online services and educational platforms (e.g., TiDB Labs, ossinsight.io, tidb.ai), ensuring high availability and SLA compliance.
  • Drive the development of online services for the Cloud Business Group (CBG), such as aggregated search, bug tracking, and partner portals.
  • Foster a culture of AI adoption and enablement across all business functions.

4. Data-Driven Growth & Digital Foundation:

  • Utilize a data-first approach to build dashboards and analytics for Product-Led Growth (PLG) campaign attribution and Account-Based Marketing (ABM) analysis.
  • Partner with Marketing to develop unified campaign performance dashboards for ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) analysis and optimization.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders like Finance, Business Operations to implement AI-powered dashboards for business planning & analysis, targeting significant efficiency gains.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in a product leadership, technical sales, or innovation role with a strong focus on AI/ML, preferably within the data infrastructure or cloud services industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales or business growth targets for technical/software products, specifically in the North American market.
  • Experience successfully shipping AI/ML products and solutions from concept to production and commercialization.
  • Deep understanding of the Generative AI ecosystem, including frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex, and their application in data platforms.
  • Strong technical acumen with experience in SDK development, cloud services (Azure, Alibaba Cloud), and managing online platforms with high SLAs.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen, with the ability to develop GTM strategies, articulate value propositions, and close deals.
  • Demonstrated experience in using data and analytics to drive business growth, marketing effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
