This role is pivotal in driving Ping's strategic evolution of core business systems and processes through robust Business Intelligence (BI) Data Engineering practices. Reporting to the Director of Business Transformation, as a BI Data Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the company's data-driven decision-making capabilities, focusing on building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our reporting and analytics.
What You'll Do:
- End-to-End Data Delivery:
- Lead the complete lifecycle of enterprise data solutions within AWS Databricks, from ideation to deployment, ensuring robustness and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Product & Engineering, Go to Market, and General & Administrative teams to proactively address data-related issues and optimize data processes.
- Agile Development & Strategic Execution:
- Adhere to Agile methodologies, fostering iterative development and continuous improvement.
- Align data engineering efforts with strategic business objectives, ensuring effective and timely execution.
- Partner with the Business Transformation Office on creation of the Business Intelligence roadmap and initiative prioritization.
- Data Pipeline Architecture & Development:
- Work with the Data Architect to build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipeline architectures on AWS Databricks.
- Assemble and process large, complex datasets to meet diverse functional and non-functional requirements.
- Solution Optimization & Quality Assurance:
- Drive continuous optimization efforts, implementing testing and tooling strategies to enhance data solution quality.
- Focus on improving performance, reliability, and maintainability of data pipelines.
- Process Optimization & Velocity Enhancement:
- Design and implement efficient processes to accelerate development cycles and improve overall data engineering velocity while maintaining quality.
What You Bring:
- Extensive Data Engineering Experience:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on cloud-based data platforms.
- Databricks Expertise:
- Strong hands-on expertise in Databricks on AWS, including Delta Lake, Spark SQL, and Databricks Workflows.
- Distributed Systems & Data Warehousing:
- Deep technical experience in designing and managing large-scale distributed systems, data warehousing, and data lakes on AWS.
- Programming & Scripting:
- Expertise in PySpark and Python programming for data processing and pipeline development.
- Essential Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience implementing and/or managing business intelligence on databricks
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent experience
- Experience in a fast-paced, ever-changing and growing environment
Salary: $110,000-$130,000
In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
