The Opportunity


We’re looking for a Head of Product Management, API Test Automation to drive Postman’s vision for the future of API testing and automation. In this role, you will own the strategy and execution of Postman’s API test automation and performance testing products, ensuring they remain industry-leading solutions for developers and organizations across all scales.

As a key leader within the Product Management organization, you will set the direction for API test automation, align cross-functional teams, and engage deeply with customers to deliver innovative and scalable solutions. You will also lead a high-performing product management team and foster a culture of collaboration and customer-centricity.

Success in this role will be measured by your ability to grow customer adoption, satisfaction, and engagement while driving Postman’s leadership in the API testing space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy: Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for API test automation and performance testing. Ensure alignment with Postman’s broader API platform strategy and evolving customer needs.

  • Customer Focus: Develop a deep understanding of customer workflows across startups, SMBs, mid-market, and enterprise segments. Regularly engage with users to identify pain points, validate ideas, and iterate on solutions that address their API testing challenges.

  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a world-class product management team. Foster collaboration across design, engineering, and go-to-market teams to deliver impactful results.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Product Marketing to align product initiatives with business objectives. Ensure seamless execution from ideation to launch and beyond.

  • Innovation: Lead initiatives to push the boundaries of API test automation, from integration testing to advanced performance benchmarking, regression testing, and beyond. Explore and implement new capabilities that add significant value to customers.

  • Enterprise Focus: Engage with enterprise customers to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant solutions that meet their governance and security needs. Work with customers to ensure Postman’s testing products integrate seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines across diverse tech stacks.

  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with go-to-market teams to position Postman’s API testing products for success. Define product messaging, pricing, and packaging strategies to drive adoption and revenue growth.

  • Metrics and Outcomes: Define and track product success metrics, including customer adoption, engagement, and satisfaction. Use these insights to drive continuous improvements in product performance and user experience.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 4+ years managing high-performing teams in the software or SaaS industry.
  • Proven success in leading products related to API testing, developer tools, or enterprise software.
  • Deep understanding of user-centered product development and technical workflows, particularly in developer-centric tools.
  • Strong business acumen with a track record of aligning product strategies with business goals to deliver measurable results.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, APIs, and enterprise-grade testing requirements. Hands-on experience with these technologies is a strong plus.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills with the ability to define and measure key product metrics effectively.

What Else?

This role is based in San Francisco Bay Area, with a reasonably estimated salary range of $200,000 to $300,000, plus a competitive equity package. Compensation is based on your skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition to our pay-for-performance philosophy, we offer comprehensive benefits, including full medical coverage, flexible PTO, and wellness reimbursement. Salaries will vary outside of the listed metropolitan areas & the U.S.
