Systems Engineer – Proof of Concept (POC) Cloud - Bangalore

Overview: 

 

As a Systems Engineer POC – Cloud you are part evangelist, part systems engineer, and part developer deploying Pure Cloud technology within the GSI partner ecosystem. As an industry expert you enjoy consulting and advising on Public Cloud with intimate experience of Hyperscaler architecture, management, design and implementation. 


You possess technical hands-on experience working with Public Cloud (Azure and AWS) solutions and infrastructure. You also have the ability and desire to jump in and learn new emerging technologies and applications in this ever-changing cloud domain.

 

The candidate for this position will be responsible for Proof-of-Concept (POC) deployments of PURE Cloud Block Store (CBS) supporting the sales growth of this solution of the PURE PLATFORM. 

The position is a pre-sales, customer-facing role which requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to present the advantages of CBS capabilities in a manner that influences current and prospective customers to invest in Purestorage Platform.  A successful proof-of-concept engagement establishes customer preference and drives revenue growth for Purestorage

Summary: 

The POC Engineer must be a motivated engineer wanting to work at the cutting edge of the “Public Cloud” technologies, enjoy hands-on testing, and customer interaction.

The Engineer must be capable of configuring Cloud resources and deep understanding of appropriate automation functionality, be able to translate solution architectures and customer test plans into functional environments meeting specified requirements. Advanced troubleshooting skills and knowledge of test plan development are required.  Other tasks involve customer demonstrations, technical presentations, and technical documentation.

Duties to include: 

  • Develop, configure, debug and present optimized proof-of-concept test configurations ensuring customer requirements are met with PURESTORAGE CBS solution architecture. 
  • Consultative support for sales teams and customers as needed to ensure proof-of-concept test plans are correctly designed for use case(s) of interest. 
  • Expert level presentation of test methodologies and results in alignment with customer technical and business requirements contributing to achievement of assigned revenue targets
  • Work with peers and Specialist teams to define, develop and present Reference Test Plans that validate key attributes and showcase PURE Cloud solutions in the best light to accelerate sales cycles and drive revenue.
  • Participate in the development, review, negotiation, and approval of proof-of-concept test plans submitted by account teams to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage the allocated POC staging time to allow for test plan refinement, configuration adjustments, and resolution of Public Cloud resource dependencies.
  • Support proof-of-concept project workshops by accounts teams, customers, and partners via thorough preparation, successful presentation, and management of all technical aspects of the POC.
  • This position requires extensive hands-on Public Cloud work, excellent presentation and writing skills, the ability to travel on occasion, and the ability to quickly earn the trust of your customers.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in enterprise cloud architecture in medium to large companies
  • Professional certification in AWS & Azure, EG Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS Solutions Architect Professional 
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends
  • Proficient in Public Cloud Services, eg: Azure Active Directory, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Purview, Azure Private Link/Private Endpoint, and Azure SQL Database
  • Experience with cloud security, networking, and disaster recovery best practices
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or Terraform
  • Experience with network security best practices and configurations
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings
