THE ROLE

Software Development Engineer -1 (Mobile – React Native)

We’re looking for a Software Development Engineer-1 Mobile Engineer (React Native) to join our growing team. In this role, you will help build and scale high-quality cross-platform mobile applications that deliver delightful, reliable, and performant user experiences. You will work closely with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and senior mobile engineers to translate product requirements into well-engineered mobile solutions.
Success in this role means demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, writing clean and maintainable code, taking ownership of assigned features, and continuously improving both the product and your technical expertise. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on execution, learning, and contributing to a fast-paced, high-impact engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain cross-platform mobile applications using React Native
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver pixel-perfect and intuitive mobile experiences
• Translate product requirements and designs into high-quality, scalable mobile features
• Contribute to component-level design and write clean, efficient, and reusable code
• Take ownership of assigned features or modules and ensure timely, high-quality delivery
• Participate in debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization efforts
• Continuously improve app performance, responsiveness, stability, and scalability
• Follow best practices for mobile development, testing, and code quality
• Use version control systems to manage, track, and document code changes
• Stay up to date with evolving mobile development trends, tools, and frameworks
• Primarily a hands-on role focused on coding, execution, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in mobile application development or related software engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience building mobile applications using React Native (academic, internship, personal, or professional projects).
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, including ES6+ concepts.
• Good understanding of mobile app lifecycle, debugging, and deployment fundamentals.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and integrating mobile apps with backend services.
• Experience with state management libraries such as Redux, React Query, or Zustand.
• Solid understanding of data structures, object-oriented programming, and core problem-solving concepts.
• Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on code quality, maintainability, and user experience.
• High ownership, eagerness to learn, and ability to work effectively in fast-paced, collaborative environments

Preferred

• Exposure to native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) development.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated builds for mobile applications.
• Understanding of mobile app performance optimization, security best practices, and analytics.
• Experience with testing frameworks and tools for mobile applications.
• Interest in mobile architecture patterns, reusable component design, and scalable UI systems
