Business Analyst - Systematic Strategy Office of the COO

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst in New York to join the Systematic Strategy Office of the COO (SCOO) team. This role involves partnering with the New York City Senior Business Analyst, the central point of contact for North American Systematic & Index Portfolio Managers. Your strong interest in coding and proficiency in process implementation and optimization will be crucial in assisting the NYC Senior Business Analyst and the COO team with project management, Business Process Automation (BPA), and decision support dashboards. You will contribute to Portfolio Manager onboarding, manage project launches, and support the ongoing growth and development of PM strategies. This role offers exposure to all foundational elements of Schonfeld, including Treasury, Compliance, Operations, and Data, as well as their broker counterparts. You will leverage the SCOO ecosystem of Atlassian products, including a Jira backbone with Trello and email connectors, to promote transparency and workflow automation within SCOO, across foundational teams, and for senior management.

What you’ll do 

The role is dynamic and will presented candidates with a broad range of responsibilities, including:

  • Assisting the SCOO team with relationship management of North American Systematic & Index Portfolio Managers, including:
    • PM Onboarding: From company set-up/structuring to pre-launch testing/integrations, you will help PMs onboard to the platform effectively.
    • Relationship Management: Work alongside key internal teams to support PMs throughout their Schonfeld journey, addressing various requests and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Utilize technical skills to build decision support tools, dashboards, and Business Process Automation (BPA).
  • Promote and maintain a unified, seamless approach for all PMs on the platform.
  • Foster collaborative communication across both the Investment and Non-Investment teams.
  • Assist the SCOO team with project management across prime brokers, trading, research, and data.
  • Quickly and effectively switch between internal team discussions, street-facing relationships, deep work, PM meetings, ad-hoc discussions, and more.

What you’ll bring

What you need:

  • A strong work ethic and trustworthy character
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, working within financial services
  • Extreme proficiency in process implementation and optimization
  • Technical skills; demonstrated proficiency working in SQL
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Demonstrated interest in cultivating new skillsets
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team
  • Understanding of Execution Routing and Prime Broker workflows

We’d love if you had:

  • Degree in STEM or another quantitatively driven field
  • Proficiency with Python
  • CFA certification
  • Pre-existing FINRA Licenses
  • Buyside experience
  • A good understanding of the trade lifecycle
  • Experience interacting with Portfolio Managers who run multi-asset class investment strategies
  • Experience working with Power BI
  • Chinese language proficiency

The base pay for this role is expected to be between $100,000 and $125,000. The expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.
