Senior Software Engineer (Back Office Development)

Schonfeld Strategic Advisors LLC has an opening for a Senior Software Engineer (Back Office Development) in New York, New York and Miami, Florida.

The position duties are as follows:  Responsible for expanding and maintaining our real-time clearing and trade processing platform. Day-to-day duties will include:

• Developing and deploying solutions to optimize complex workflows with minimal supervision;
• Contributing to a highly supportable, future-ready, performant code base that operates without latency;
• Working with a modern tech stack – building microservices that deploy to the cloud (AWS) using containers (Docker);
• Using experience in a programming language, such as C++, Java, Python, etc. in day to day duties and performing code reviews of junior software developers;
• Using experience and knowledge of Cloud services, such as AWS, and DevOps methodologies, such as CI/CD, to build automation; and
• Leading the continuous improvement and expansion of platform capabilities (using Agile) based on rapidly changing business requirements as well as providing Level 3 support across the globe
• Interact with business stakeholders to gather use cases and observe workflows
• Manage communications with product owner, business analysts, other technology teams; and
• Act as a mentor and role-model to other members of the team.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, a related field or foreign equivalent, followed by 5 years of progressively responsible experience in any occupation developing, building, and maintaining software systems for post trade processing. Experience must include:

1. 5 years of experience using programming languages (including C++, Java, Python) to develop and deploy software solutions
2. 5 years of experience using RDBMS databases and Cloud based databases
3. 5 years of experience using Git
4. 5 years of experience using containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
5. 5 years of experience using internal and external cloud services such as AWS
6. 5 years of experience with DevOps methodologies such as CI/CD and build automation
7. 3 years of financial experience focused on post trade processing of listed asset classes, with 1 year specializing in T-0 matching platforms such as NYFIX, Traiana, and Trax

Part-time telecommuting permitted.

Wage Range: $184,700 - $258,000
