What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

BSR Testing and Analysis: 

  • Conduct testing to identify Buzz, Squeak, and Rattle issues in products, particularly in automotive or consumer goods industries. 
  • Utilize noise detection equipment and techniques to diagnose the root cause of BSR problems. 
  • Ensure that BSR tests align with company and industry standards. 

Root Cause Identification and Corrective Actions: 

  • Work with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to analyze BSR test data and pinpoint areas of concern. 
  • Recommend and implement corrective actions to resolve BSR issues in both the design and manufacturing processes. 
  • Develop and execute detailed action plans to prevent the recurrence of BSR issues. 

Design and Development Collaboration: 

  • Collaborate with product design engineers to optimize designs for noise reduction and to integrate BSR prevention measures. 
  • Provide input on materials, structural changes, and manufacturing processes that can reduce or eliminate BSR. 
  • Review design prototypes and provide feedback based on BSR performance tests. 

Manufacturing Process Improvement: 

  • Partner with manufacturing teams to implement process improvements that reduce the risk of BSR in production. 
  • Ensure that assembly techniques, materials, and environmental factors are controlled to minimize the occurrence of BSR.  

Supplier and Vendor Quality Management: 

  • Work with suppliers to ensure that components meet BSR quality standards. 
  • Conduct audits and assessments of supplier processes to ensure compliance with BSR performance requirements. 

 Documentation and Reporting: 

  • Prepare detailed reports on BSR testing, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. 
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all BSR-related activities to support continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Report on BSR performance metrics to stakeholders, including senior management and engineering teams. 

Customer Feedback and Field Issues: 

  • Monitor customer feedback and warranty data to identify BSR issues in products already in the field. 
  • Lead initiatives to address BSR concerns reported by customers and implement solutions for future production. 

Working Conditions: 

  • Primarily based in manufacturing or audit facility. 
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods during audits. 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, SC.
  • The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company 20-40% of the time.
  • Travel: Potential international travel, and is passport required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. 
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quality assurance or audit processes within the automotive industry. 
  • Experience in leading and working with cross-functional projects 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. 
  • Proficiency in quality management systems, tools, and techniques (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO standards, FMEA, APQP). 
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. 
  • Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes, customer-specific requirements, and vehicle inspection tools/equipment. 
  • Quality-related certifications (e.g., CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) are a plus. 
  • Data-Driven Mindset. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with great flexibility. 
  • May require extended hours during critical phases for issue resolution. 
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, a high level of assertiveness as well as entrepreneurial thinking and goal- and result-oriented decision-making  
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally 20-40% of the time.

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $95,000 - $120,000

Internal leveling code: IC9
