Shift4 is expanding globally and seeking a key Principal Product Designer!
This role is an onsite position based at any of the following Shift4 locations: Tampa, FL (preferred), Atlanta, GA or Center Valley, PA. Relocation assistance may be provided.
Responsibilities
- Lead product design efforts across high-priority initiatives from zero-to-one ideas to production-ready handoff.
- Build realistic, high-fidelity prototypes using tools like Cursor, Replit, V0
- Bring a high level of polish and clarity to user flows, microinteractions, and visual presentation.
- Influence product direction and UX strategy by grounding design decisions in Jobs-to-Be-Done insights and real user needs.
- Help evolve our design systems while pushing visual consistency across platforms.
- Work with other designers and elevate the quality of design through feedback and design crit.
- Apply deep POS experience to craft intuitive, modern tools that will help shape the future of our SkyTab product line.
- Will build high-quality interactive prototypes to accelerate alignment and reduce build cycles.
- Will provide visual and UX improvement to measurably increase product adoption, engagement or ease of use.
- Have the ability to be recognized internally as a "go-to" design leader for complex product challenges and exceptional output.
- Will actively contribute to a high-bar design culture across squads.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in product design, with a portfolio showing high-quality shipped work and clear rationale behind design decisions.
- Mastery of Figma and modern design tools, including experience with design systems at scale.
- Hands-on with no-code tools and AI workflows—V0, Replit, Cursor, etc.
- Excellent visual design skills—you sweat the spacing, typography, and transitions.
- Strong communication chops—confident presenting to cross-functional teams and execs.
- A track record of navigating ambiguity, managing complexity, and driving outcomes in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Skills (Additional experience that is a plus to have):
- Direct experience designing for POS systems is strongly preferred.
