Vice President of Technology Project & Portfolio Management
The Vice President of Technology Project & Portfolio Management will be a key member of the Technology leadership team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing all project execution and portfolios, managing all enhancement requests and prioritization. The current technology portfolio involves a TSA Exit program, growth and expansion efforts (including M&A Activities), construction expansion, new customer onboarding and offboarding, and works to ensure alignment with our strategic goals and other project functions across the organization. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a track record of transforming organizations through effective project execution and portfolio management.
What you'll do:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology project and portfolio management strategy in alignment with the company's overall business objectives. Provide vision and leadership to drive growth and expansion initiatives.
- Project Portfolio Management: Lead the evaluation, prioritization, and management of technology project portfolios, ensuring efficient resource allocation and optimal project outcomes. Implement best practices in project management to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Project Execution Excellence – Oversee and manage a team of project managers to successfully execute all necessary and approved projects in the portfolio.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with department heads and project teams to ensure project goals and growth initiatives are integrated seamlessly into daily operations.
- Resource Allocation: Allocate resources, including budget and talent, to support projects and growth efforts effectively.
- Performance Metrics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on the progress of projects, portfolio management, and growth initiatives to the executive team and board of directors.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with projects and growth initiatives. Develop contingency plans to ensure project success.
- Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of project professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
- Budget Oversight: Manage the enterprise IT budget for the Project and Portfolio Management department, ensuring fiscal responsibility and accountability.
- Process Excellence: continually improve our project and portfolio management processes, from intake to project execution and closeout.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in a technology related field; a master's degree or MBA is strongly preferred.
- Proven experience as a senior leader in project and M&A management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex technology projects on time. Prefer at least two cycels of PM leadership over complex ERP implementations.
- 15+ years of experience implementing systems in a global manufacturing environment required.
- Experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing industry a plus.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Six Sigma).
- Proficiency in the use of project management software and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change within an organization.
- PMP, PMI-ACP, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
