Skylo’s direct-to-device service is now live on millions of activated devices across five continents, with more than 60 million square kilometers of coverage, in partnership with multiple satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo provides anywhere, anytime connectivity solution that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks. Our focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across three main verticals: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT.

This role is located at Bangalore, India where we are onsite at least 3 days a week in the office. 

Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo

Skylo is hiring a Head of OSS/BSS to help fulfill Skylo’s mission of making satellite connectivity available to all. This individual will be leading the strategy, development, implementation, and optimization of Operations Support Systems (OSS) and Business Support Systems (BSS) within the organization. This role ensures seamless service delivery, operational efficiency, and customer experience enhancement by managing and integrating key telecom and IT systems, such as provisioning, billing, customer relationship management (CRM), network management, and analytics.

How You Will Contribute 

Strategic Leadership & Management

  • Develop and execute the OSS/BSS strategy aligned with the company’s business goals.
  • Lead and manage team responsible for end-to-end architecture and implementation of Business Support Systems (BSS) and Operations Support Systems (OSS) for Skylo.
  • Ensure alignment between IT, network operations, and business functions to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives, including cloud migration, automation, and AI-driven operations.

System Development & Optimization

  • Oversee the architecture, design, and deployment of OSS/BSS platforms to enhance service delivery.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, such as cloud-based OSS/BSS, AI-driven automation, and 5G-ready solutions.
  • Optimize system integrations between billing, CRM, order management, network inventory, and customer self-service portals.
  • Build end-to-end systems for operations management, including systems for NOC covering inventory, monitoring, intelligence, automation and service management.
  • Ensure system scalability, performance, and security in compliance with industry best practices.

Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency

  • Identify and address bottlenecks in service provisioning, network monitoring, and customer support.
  • Implement automation and AI-driven analytics to improve operational workflows.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with telecom vendors, software providers, and system integrators to ensure seamless deployment and support.
  • Manage vendor contracts, negotiations, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to optimize costs and performance.
  • Act as a key liaison between IT, network operations, finance, and customer service teams.

Compliance & Security

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory, security, and data privacy requirements (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS, telecom regulations).
  • Develop policies and best practices to enhance data governance and cybersecurity in OSS/BSS environments.

What We Look For 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in OSS/BSS solutions within the telecom or IT industry.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale OSS/BSS implementation and transformation projects.
  • Strong background in telecom operations, billing, CRM, and network management.
  • Structured Project Management skills, Prince2, PMI, SAFe or any other certification within project management demonstrated customer journey experience in service industry, preferably telecom.
  • Deep experience with Netsuite and its related set of ecosystem services.
  • Good understanding of various systems across ERP, CRM, CSD, KYC, billing, HRMS and related.
  • Experience to build monitoring tools and NOC is preferred.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Expertise in OSS/BSS platforms (e.g., Amdocs, Netcracker, Ericsson, Oracle, or custom-built systems).
  • Understanding of network infrastructure, cloud computing, API integrations, and automation.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, TM Forum frameworks (eTOM, SID, TAM), and DevOps methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.

Soft Skills

  • Leadership and people management experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
