Skylo’s direct-to-device service is now live on millions of activated devices across five continents, with more than 60 million square kilometers of coverage, in partnership with multiple satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo provides anywhere, anytime connectivity solution that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks. Our focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across three main verticals: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT.

This role is located in our Espoo office, where we are onsite 3 days a week in office. 

Skylo is hiring a Sales Engineering Manager to help fulfill our mission of making satellite connectivity accessible to all. In this role, you will lead Skylo's technical relationships with customers, ensuring seamless integration and support.

How You Will Contribute 

  • Technical Integration and Collaboration
    • Spearhead the technical integration of mobile network operators' (MNOs) network infrastructure with the Skylo Network to introduce NTN network services
    • Manage programs with MNOs to guarantee successful integration through  commercial launch of Services.
  • Comprehensive Technical Training and Enablement
    • Conduct regular updates and training sessions to keep various MNO teams up-to-date on NTN technology evolution.
  • Commercialization and Certification:
    • Track the progress of device development projects, identifying potential bottlenecks or issues, and developing technical solutions to ensure timely and successful completion.
  • Technical Leadership, Collaboration, and Customer Advocacy
    • Establish technical leadership with MNOs, positioning Skylo as a trusted advisor for NTN product development.
    • Develop and deliver effective training materials and collateral with Product & Marketing.
    • Champion the needs of MNOs by sharing their feedback within the organization to continuously enhance our features and processes.

What We Look For 

  • Extensive Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, ideally in the telecommunications sector.
  • Technical Proficiency: Possesses deep technical knowledge and can clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Customer Focus: Proven ability to present technical products and services to clients, provide expert guidance, and resolve customer issues.
  • Desirable Skills: Familiarity with UE call flows and roaming/billing integration is a plus.
  • IoT and Consumer OEM Experience: Experience in service deployment with IoT and Consumer OEMs, and knowledge of IoT protocols.
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building solid relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify customer needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Results-Oriented: Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proven track record of achieving or surpassing sales goals and driving revenue growth.
  • Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
