Skylo is a global Non-Terrestrial Network service provider based in Mountain View, CA, offering a service that allows smartphone and IoT cellular devices to connect directly over existing satellites.
Skylo’s direct-to-device service is now live across four continents, with more than 50 million square kilometers of coverage, in partnership with multiple satellite operators, mobile network operators (MNOs), Tier-1 chipset makers, and OEMs. Devices connected over satellite are managed and served by Skylo's commercial NTN vRAN, featuring a 3GPP standards-based cloud-native base station and core. Skylo provides anywhere, anytime connectivity solutions that seamlessly roams between terrestrial and satellite networks. Our focus is on enabling connected services for people outdoors and connected workflows across three main verticals: mass-market consumer devices, automotive, and industrial IoT.
This role is located Espoo, Finland where we are onsite 3 days a week in office.
Summary Of How You Will Impact Skylo
Skylo is hiring an HR Manager to help fulfill Skylo’s mission of making satellite connectivity available to all. This individual will focus on recruitment, onboarding, compliance, payroll, culture, employee engagement, and performance processes in our Finland office.
How You Will Contribute
- Assist in developing and implementing local people programs and drive engagement with employees.
- Assist in the full recruitment cycle for key positions, driving talent acquisition strategies and ensuring a seamless onboarding process for new hires.
- Support employees and managers, addressing concerns, providing guidance on policies, and fostering a supportive work environment while working with the Global VP, People & Talent and Managing Director Europe.
- Ensure company compliance with local employment laws and regulations.
- Assist in compensation structures, manage benefits programs.
- Support the finance team in processing payroll, ensuring timely, accurate processing.
- Support the performance review process, employee feedback, and development plans. Including initiatives for employee engagement and retention.
- Provide insights for decision-making, and generate reports on key HR metrics, such as turnover, headcount, and engagement.
- Lead the organization of local company events, staff meetings, and team-building activities.
What We Look For
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in HR and HR Development or a similar role.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with HR processes, local legislations (specifically, in Finland), HRIS systems, benefits administration, and general office management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and HR software
