We are excited to announce a brand new opportunity for a Contract Lab Manager Lab Manager to join our R&D team and play a critical role in shaping our next portfolio of synthetic cell products. As the Lab Manager, you will have a significant impact on our overall R&D functions by overseeing the organization and upkeep of our research lab facilities. Your responsibilities will include managing the ordering of supplies, maintaining lab equipment, as well as organizing and maintaining stocks of consumables and reagents. Moreover, you will also assist in general research and laboratory operations, making this a truly multifaceted role.

Responsibilities- Ensure and manage effective day-to-day operations of the R&D lab
- Monitoring, ordering, and stocking of lab supplies and consumables
- Manage equipment and coordinate instrument maintenance, repairs, and calibration
- Support general lab activities, i.e. preparing reagents, managing waste streams
- Assist with operations of laboratory equipment and laboratory automation
- Interface with procurement and shipping teams
- Ensure compliance with laboratory health and safety guidelines
- Train incoming personnel in proper lab conduct
- Assist in laboratory space and facilities planning
- Perform and analyze data from experiments to support the development of new technologies and the delivery of custom products
- Supports laboratory operations throughout the R&D department.
- Associates degree in Engineering/Chemistry/Biology/Material Science; Bachelors preferred; Degree in non-scientific discipline will be considered if direct industry experience in a prior lab manager role
- 3+ years experience in life sciences/laboratory environment
- Strong understanding of laboratory workflows
- Attention to detail, strong communication and organization skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
- Work effectively with a diverse cross-functional team
- Experience documenting operating procedures
- Be curious, detail oriented, and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quickly
