Karel-Gordon & Associates (KGA), a Strongpoint Partner, is looking for a new team member to join us as an experienced Retirement Combo Plan Administrator. KGA is a well-established actuarial, consulting and retirement plan administration firm located in Deerfield, IL and have been in business for almost 50 years.
What you'll do:
- Ability to perform A-Z administration and to independently manage a caseload of approximately 80-100 401(k) plans of (exclusive of 401(k) loan & distribution processing & plan documents/amendments).
- Maintain industry knowledge and share information with client and team members
- Keep up to date with changing 401(k) legislative requirements
- Read and interpret legal plan documents and amendments
- Discuss plan design changes and options with clients
- Review and import census data and reconcile participant account data, including “receivable” contributions
- Prepare 401(k) valuations/trust accounting/government reporting on an accrual basis.
- Perform and understand ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy and 401(a)(4) combo non-discrimination testing
- Coordinate year-end valuation and government reporting, including asset reconciliation/Trust Accounting for plans maintained on recordkeeping platforms
Who you are:
- 3+ years of retirement plan experience, but would consider less experience from the right motivated individual
- Excellent knowledge of ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy and 401(a)(4) non-discrimination testing
- Interested in learning how to prepare Defined Benefit / Cash Balance actuarial valuation as a next step in your career
- Knowledge of advanced cross-testing concepts and ability to perform testing to determine the most cost-effective solutions to meet nondiscrimination requirements
- Experience with Datair is strongly preferred
- Ability to perform accrual-based trust accounting for Form 5500 purposes
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to utilize and keep current CRM software
- Organized individual able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and be detail-oriented
- Exceptional approach to client service focusing on communications, timely solutions, and client needs
- Team player, collaborative, able to work with and through others
- Strong verbal and written communication skills internally and externally
- Ability to work well under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; strong math and/or accounting skills
- Ability to act with integrity, be proactive with client needs, seek to continuously improve service, constantly focus on professional growth and work collaboratively with the entire team
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASPPA and/or NIPA credentials preferred, or willingness to work towards credentials
Pay Transparency Statement:
At Strongpoint Partners, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package of $65,000-90,000 including base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
