What You Will Do

- Deploy and operate Kubernetes clusters across multiple cloud providers and edge locations.
- Build and maintain the networking that connects and isolates our edge infrastructure, including VPNs, routing, network policies, and firewalls.
- Own infrastructure automation for cluster provisioning, configuration, upgrades, and recovery.
- Manage infrastructure as code with Terraform/OpenTofu and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
- Build and operate secure runtime environments for customer workloads, including containers, microVMs, and ephemeral sandboxed workloads.
- Improve cluster reliability, observability, and capacity as the platform grows across providers and regions.
- Build out Prometheus metrics and alerting for infrastructure and platform observability.
- Harden workload and network isolation, and help define security boundaries for running untrusted customer code.
- Participate in on-call and troubleshoot problems across Linux, containers, Kubernetes, networking, and cloud infrastructure.

What You Bring

- 1–3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes experience in production, including cluster-level operations and troubleshooting.
- Strong Linux and container fundamentals.
- Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, NAT, and routing.
- Infrastructure-as-code and automation experience with tools such as Terraform/OpenTofu and Ansible.
- Experience working with at least one major cloud provider and an understanding of cloud networking, compute, and storage.
- Experience diagnosing production issues across multiple layers of the infrastructure stack.
- Security mindset: you think about attack surfaces, tenant isolation, and running untrusted workloads safely.

Nice to Have

- Experience operating Kubernetes across multiple cloud providers or regions.
- Experience with Kubernetes networking and CNI implementations such as Calico.
- Firecracker, Kata Containers, or other microVM/container isolation technologies.
- Container runtime experience, including containerd, cgroups, namespaces, or seccomp.
- Knative or other serverless infrastructure.
- Experience with ephemeral compute, sandboxing, CI runners, build systems, or other platforms that execute user-provided code.
- BGP, WireGuard, or software-defined networking experience.
- Rancher/RKE2 specifically.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Go or Python experience for infrastructure tooling and automation.
