As a Staff Systems Engineer, you’ll turn ambitious product visions into high-performance, fully integrated systems. You’ll work across hardware, software, and product teams to deliver AI computing solutions that push the boundaries of speed, efficiency, and reliability.
This role is on-site, based out of Santa Clara, California, Toronto, Canada, or Austin, Texas.

Who You Are
- A seasoned systems engineer with 8+ years in HPC, AI, or high-performance workstation platforms.
- Expert in system architecture, including CPUs, GPUs, memory hierarchies, storage, and interconnects.
- Skilled at validating, debugging, and optimizing performance across complex systems.
- A clear communicator who can unite cross-functional teams and present solutions with impact.
- A creative problem-solver who thrives on tackling challenging, fast-paced engineering problems.
What We Need
- Define and drive system-level requirements: memory, storage, BMC, power, CPU, motherboards, and cabling.
- Develop hardware specs, chassis designs, and performance targets for cutting-edge AI platforms.
- Partner with software, hardware, and product teams to deliver seamless system integration.
- Evaluate and select critical components while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Lead validation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to overcome design challenges.

Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.
