Data Engineer
The Swift Group is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Engineer to join our fast-paced data team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful acquisition and management of mission-critical and mission support data sets. You will work closely with our team of experts to design and implement data solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients in the military space. Whether you have experience as a developer, analyst, or engineer, we want to hear from you. Your expertise in this area will be invaluable as we work to provide our clients with the highest quality data solutions possible. The successful candidate will have an understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles, as well as experience working with large and complex data sets. They will work closely with our engineers to build and optimize our data pipeline and analytics systems. As a hybrid role, this position will require some on-site work, but you will also have some flexibility to work remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain data models and schema designs that support our analytics needs.
- Monitor and optimize the performance and scalability of our data infrastructure.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high-quality code and system reliability.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and analytics.
- To excel in the position, the candidate shall have a strong attention to detail, be able to understand technical complexities, and have the willingness to learn and adapt to the situation.
- The candidate will work both independently and as part of a large team to accomplish client objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a developer, analyst, or engineer with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python and Java.
- Proficiency with acquisition and understanding of network data and the associated metadata.
- Fluency with data extraction, translation, and loading including data prep and labeling to enable data analytics.
- Experience with Kibana and Elasticsearch.
- Familiarity with various log formats such as JSON, XML, and others.
- Experience with data flow, management, and storage solutions (i.e. Kafka, NiFi, and AWS S3 and SQS solutions).
- Ability to decompose technical problems and troubleshoot system and dataflow issues.
- Strong experience with ETL, data modeling, and schema design.
- Must be able to work a hybrid schedule.
- DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certification required.
- HS Diploma
- US Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance required

Pay Range: $49,996.80 - $290,004.00
Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to: level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
