Telecomm Field Engineer
The Swift Group is looking for a Telecommunications Field Engineer who will maintain a strong awareness of technical equipment; be able to apply the client's project management model for development and installation efforts; and provide build, testing, analysis, deployment, and troubleshooting/lifecycle support for innovative hardware/software/ network systems and applications. Support includes procurement of required equipment or components to support build-out of communications systems; uncrating, set-up and build-out of new equipment. Hardware and software configuration and customization of packages, system integration and testing of built packages, pack-out and shipment of the completed packages. System integration and testing of built packages, preparation of customer system documentation, conducting site surveys as needed prior to installation, drawings of rack elevations, training of onsite customer personnel on installed packages, test, inspection, verification of all customer communications systems ensuring compliance with COMSEC policies and procedures and project management requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- 11+ years or more years direct experience with USG traditional and tactical communications projects and design.
- Previous experience as a Senior Communications Officer
- Experience with management of field tactical and operational communications systems and procedures
- Knowledge of field communications
- Experience in OCONUS travel
- Experience as a Project Manager in Customer Environment
- Management of LAN systems
- SATCOM experience
- Understanding of a Communications Center
- Familiarity with ICOM/Motorola/Harris equipment and its use
- Direct experience / expert knowledge of Customer communication and message systems.
- Background in and understanding of current installation procedures (CIP) and field training of personnel.
- Considerable knowledge of operations, maintenance and management communications security systems including cryptographic equipment and accounts
- Ability to manage accountable property
- Ability to independently resolve most field/base infrastructure issues
- Ability to give details to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to adhere to security and safety standards, counter-intelligence and applicable communications policies and procedures
- Ability to independently perform specialized equipment and systems installations, modifications, and upgrades.
- Ability to test, identify, and resolve most tier 1 and tier 2 equipment and system problems
- Willingness to perform extended TDYs in dangerous/hostile environments
- HS Diploma.
- US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of procurement processes
- Ability to excel in a team environment
- Experience supporting VIPs / Customer executive management
