Senior Database Developer
The Swift Group is seeking a skilled Senior Database Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing database systems, particularly focusing on Oracle and PostgreSQL platforms. Key responsibilities include developing and interfacing with Application Program Interfaces (APIs), ensuring the quality and performance of solutions through rigorous testing and quality assurance, and managing data structures and load routines for analytical purposes. The role also involves working with reporting tools like Tableau and COGNOS, supporting application development in Java, JavaScript, and Python, and leveraging AWS environments for database and application support. The ideal candidate will thrive in an Agile project management setting and possess a strong background in data transformation and processing. The position is in Chantilly, VA.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
- Proficiency in using Tableau and COGNOS for reporting presentation.
- Experience in developing and interfacing with APIs.
- Proven ability to perform testing and quality assurance of solutions within Oracle data tiers.
- Experience in developing, creating, and modifying data structures and load routines for analytical use.
- Expertise in working with relational data, including cleansing, transforming, and processing structured data.
- Skilled in application development using Java, JavaScript, and Python.
- Proficiency in working with views, triggers, and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments, including RDS and S3.
- Experience working within an Agile project management framework.
- H.S Diploma
- US citizenship with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with AWS Cloud Data Migration Services.
- Familiarity with JIRA for project tracking and management.
- Proven experience collaborating with diverse teams, including client staff, IT customers, and technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with various data repository types such as NoSQL and distributed processing frameworks.
- Experience creating and interfacing with REST APIs.
- Bachelor’s Degree
