Job brief:

The Weather Company (TWC) is seeking an Aviation Meteorologist to join our aviation forecasting section in Seoul, Korea. As an Aviation Meteorologist, you will provide advanced forecasting expertise for TWC's decision support products and services to airline operations control centers and airline airport personnel. This position requires an understanding of airline operations and the air traffic control environment. You will be delivering timely products with the accuracy and quality required to meet and exceed customer expectations. Additionally, as part of aviation forecasting, you will be quality controlling and adding value to global weather data used by numerous other client types, from media to energy and retail.

The impact you'll make:

  • Use the TWC HoTL tool to monitor, quality assure, and add value to global forecast data with a specific focus on potential impacts from significant weather events including severe thunderstorms, snow, ice, dense fog, and wind/tropical systems.

  • Provide advanced level aviation forecasts mainly for Terminal Aerodrome Forecast(TAF) but also for the arrival/departure airspace covering the 0-72 hour domain.
  • 주로 공항의 기상예보 뿐만 아니라 0~72시간의 출발/도착, 공역에 대한 전문 항공예보를 제공합니다. 
  • Evaluate data and then issue written, graphical, and oral aviation forecasts and alerts for use by both dispatchers and pilots.

  • Produce Flight Planning Guidance (FPG) charts and Significant Meteorological Information (SIGMETs) for enroute weather hazards for the 0-24 hours.

  • At least 1 years of operational aviation weather forecasting with civil/commercial experience or military experience accepted, with demonstrated achievements and progressive responsibilities

Within TWC, forecasters work on a flexible shift schedule covering 24 hours, seven days per week. You should be comfortable participating fully in a 24-hour rotating shift pattern.
