Pay Rate: $24.67 - $25.53 


About the Role 

The Security Guard performs protective services to safeguard personnel, property, and assets at local facilities. 

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Conduct scheduled foot and vehicle patrols of assigned areas to deter and detect unauthorized activity or safety hazards.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and parking areas to enforce access control and visitor procedures.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, safety issues, or violations of facility policy to supervisors or law enforcement as appropriate.
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations, providing assistance and coordination with first responders.
  • Prepare clear, detailed written reports of daily activity, incidents, and observations.
  • Perform security checks of doors, gates, lighting, and surveillance systems to ensure proper operation.
  • Provide courteous assistance to employees, community members, and visitors while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Support special events and community gatherings with crowd control and traffic management as assigned.
  • Follow established protocols, safety standards, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of security, law enforcement, or related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of safety, security, and emergency response practices, including pedestrian and vehicular traffic control.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security certifications or licenses as required by local regulations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain current First Aid and CPR certification within three (3) months of hire.
  • Ability to interact courteously and professionally with the public, convey information, and assist visitors to the facility.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, as well as frequent walking, standing, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for extended periods of time.
  • Shift differentials may apply based on assigned schedule, shift, or operational requirements. This position supports a 24/7 operational environment, and work schedules may vary based on mission requirements, customer needs, and staffing demands. Candidates must be willing to support alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency operations, as required.
  • Must be able to perform prolonged foot patrols and operate a vehicle for extended periods during vehicle patrols, including in low-light or inclement weather conditions.
  • Must maintain alertness and situational awareness during long shifts and while working independently.
  • Requires the ability to quickly respond to emergencies, including running short distances or physically intervening when safety or security is at risk.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold.
  • May be exposed to noise, moving vehicles, and other environmental or occupational hazards; appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet mission requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work may include exposure to stressful or confrontational situations when dealing with security incidents or the public; professionalism and composure must be maintained at all times.

US Pay Range

$24.67 - $25.53 USD
