JOB SUMMARY:
The Site Engineer serves as a deputy/admin member of the Site Engineering Team, providing hands-on technical expertise while supporting the team lead with administrative and coordination responsibilities. This role supports multiple projects in parallel and contributes to hardware design, drafting, site integration planning, and technical coordination with internal teams and the Missile Defense Agency customer.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as a deputy/admin member of the Site Engineering Team, supporting the team lead with administrative coordination and task management.
- Perform analysis of hardware characteristics and compare results against design requirements.
- Develop rack integration plans and create rack-level designs.
- Prepare, draft, and review rack-level technical drawings and site-wide technical drawings and plans.
- Review technical products for content accuracy and level of detail.
- Complete required documentation and drawings in accordance with Systems and/or Hardware Engineer direction.
- Act as a technical interface to National Team working-level counterparts and the Missile Defense Agency customer.
- Conduct and support technical-level meetings.
- Document, manage, and status assigned scope using Agile methodologies.
- Support development of Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and Engineering Estimates (EEs) through analysis of scope and requirements, including labor and material estimates with justification.
- Interface with peer-level team members, Deployment Team Leadership, and MDNT management to ensure high-quality products are delivered on schedule and within available resources.
- Support site surveys and hardware installations as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to support multiple projects concurrently in a team-based environment with limited guidance.
- Experience in hardware engineering and analysis of hardware requirements, including heat, weight, and power considerations.
- Experience with rack-mounted computing equipment and networking equipment, including servers, workstations, routers, switches, firewalls, and VLANs.
- Ability to design, prepare, draft, and review rack-level and site drawings, plans, technical manuals, and engineering products.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio or equivalent professional drawing tools for rack layouts and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite tools.
- Knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, and techniques.
- Experience with parts listings and reference codes.
- Strong understanding of DoD drafting and hardware engineering standards.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience developing Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Experience with drafting and design engineering.
- Experience with configuration control and management of technical drawings.
- Experience conducting in-person site surveys to prepare for hardware installations.
- Proficiency in systems engineering concepts, including requirements analysis, architecture, and integration.
- Prior experience supporting the program.
- Prior experience in Systems Engineering or Hardware Engineering roles.
- Knowledge and experience using Jira and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with Windchill or SAP PLM for product lifecycle management.
EDUCATION: Bachelors with 10+ or Master with 7+ Years of Experience

SALARY RANGE: $130,000 to $155,000

Estimated Pay Range
$130,000 - $155,000 USD
