Product Marketing Manager
About Traversal
Traversal is building an AI site reliability engineer that identifies, root causes, and fixes production issues within complex software infrastructure. We're a team of some of the best AI talent - including professors at Columbia & Cornell with PhDs from MIT & Berkeley - with over 20 years of research experience, pushing the forefront of AI Agents and Causal AI. Traversal is already deployed in some of the largest enterprises in the world helping improve the resilience of mission critical systems that serve millions of people worldwide, with a decrease in MTTD/MTTR of up to 90%.
The Role
As Traversal’s first marketing hire, you’ll build the product marketing function from the ground up. You’ll define how we tell Traversal’s story, shape our positioning, and drive go-to-market execution as we bring our agentic observability platform out of stealth. This is a rare opportunity to join during a foundational stage of growth, where you’ll have an outsized impact on how customers experience and understand Traversal.
You’ll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and sales teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with SREs, platform teams, and engineering leaders. You’ll work closely with our CEO and BizOps lead to translate learnings from founder-led sales into a repeatable playbook as we build out our sales function. You’ll create technical marketing content, drive customer and competitive research, and build early sales enablement programs to support our market expansion. If you thrive in high-ownership, high-velocity environments—and are excited to help define how AI-native infrastructure products come to market—we’d love to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Build and execute Traversal’s product marketing strategy across positioning, messaging, content, and product launches.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear narratives that connect to real-world customer pain points.
- Develop technical marketing content, including website copy, case studies, technical blogs, videos and product collateral.
- Support community-building initiatives through events, content, and partnerships that engage SREs, platform teams, and the broader AI infrastructure ecosystem.
- Conduct market research, customer discovery, and competitive analysis to inform product and marketing strategy.
- Partner with product management and engineering to shape roadmap decisions based on market and user insights.
- Build early sales enablement programs and materials to help our team tell the Traversal story effectively.
- Act as a cross-functional connector between product, engineering, sales, and marketing.
Requirements
- 5+ years in product marketing or a hybrid product/technical marketing role, ideally in AI, observability, infrastructure, or developer tools.
- Strong ability to dive deep into technical products and communicate them effectively to both technical and business audiences.
- Experience working closely with product and engineering teams in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts.
Nice to Have
- Passion for AI innovation and a desire to help define how AI-native infrastructure products go to market.
- Proven ability to build foundational marketing programs from scratch and evolve them over time.
- Familiarity with AI or LLM-powered products.
