Overview of Opportunity 

Two Six Technologies is seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer that will apply expertise in the installation, configuration, operations, and maintenance of primarily Linux-based architectures to support a software development contract with 100+ developers.  The selected candidate will improve the stability and performance of a hosted vCenter VxRail environment. They will also manage commercial Cloud infrastructures, maintain and improve the security posture of the domain through continuous monitoring of system health, and troubleshoot any issues. 

To be successful you must be proficient in building, documenting, and providing tier-3 engineering support. The position requires technical knowledge of systems, networks, and application security as well as a solid understanding of enterprise-level security frameworks, policies, processes, and standards.

All candidates must be local to the Washington DC metro area and willing to be in the office in Arlington 2-4 times per week.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide technical leadership across multiple projects, assess and implement technical solutions to evolve infrastructure
  • Provide daily operational support for Linux operating systems and applications
  • Maintain the integrity of systems by monitoring security feeds and dashboards in support of Continuous Monitoring
  • Monitor application and operating system performance; analyze, document and remediate incidents
  • Develop and maintain standards and procedures for applications across a complex computing infrastructure
  • Leverage scripting and system automation tools
  • Evaluate and implement security patches on a regular interval
  • Interact directly with development teams and evaluate vendor products to assist their needs
  • Support tier 3 troubleshooting for small team and ensure the implementation of proper fixes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience with Redhat, Centos
  • 2+ years experience with VMWare ESXi, vCenter server, HA, DRS, and replication
  • 2+ years experience with AWS, Azure, self-hosted solutions
  • 2+ years experience with standard development tools: Gitlab, Github, Jira, Confluence
  • 2+ years experience with network engineering an
  • Working experience with with Ansible, Puppet. Playbooks for instance provisioning, configuration management, patching
  • Working experience containerization, Docker, k8s
  • Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a clearance up to TS/SCI

 

Nice if you Have:

  • Linux System Administrator Certification
  • Certifications relating to IT Security (CISSP, GIAC, Security+)

Clearance Qualifications:

  • You must be able and willing to obtain and maintain a government clearance up to TS/SCI
