The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our Tech Hub in Valencia, Spain. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional user experiences in an international environment, this is the opportunity for you.

As part of a cross-functional team, you will contribute to the development of our flagship application, create innovative features, and enhance our customer check-in experience.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, solution-oriented, and an excellent problem solver with a fast-learning mindset. Strong Android/Kotlin technical skills and proven experience in developing commercial-grade Android apps is a must. You will collaborate with talented engineers in a fast-paced, technically challenging environment to deliver new and impactful features.

Your responsibilities

  • Design and build advanced applications in Kotlin for the Android platform 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deploy new features.
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability. 
  • Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency. 

What you need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science with a minimum 5+ years of experience 
  • Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes 
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services 
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience with offline storage, maps API, and performance tuning 
  • Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks 
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements 
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications 
  • Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Accessibility features
  • Android portfolio is a plus
  • Github and Jira knowledge
  • UI & UX experience
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
  • Passion for sports
