Overview

US Conec is seeking a Metrology Engineer to support the development, validation, and continuous improvement of measurement systems used in the design, manufacturing, and troubleshooting of advanced connectivity solutions. This role partners closely with engineering, product development, metrology technicians, and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate measurement processes, data analysis, and reporting that drive product quality and process performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize metrology programs, software tools, fixtures, accessories, and measurement processes to support new and existing products
  • Gain and apply expert knowledge of US Conec’s metrology equipment and measurement technologies
  • Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to ensure measurements accurately reflect design intent
  • Create, validate, and maintain measurement programs, procedures, and best practices across the metrology function
  • Support mold monitoring and process improvement initiatives by providing accurate measurement data and feedback to manufacturing teams
  • Collaborate with metrology technicians and engineering teams to plan, execute, and evaluate experiments and validation activities
  • Respond to internal measurement requests and communicate results through clear, timely, and actionable reports
  • Analyze measurement data using statistical methods and software tools to identify trends, support decision-making, and drive continuous improvement
  • Generate charts, graphs, presentations, and technical reports using tools such as Excel, Minitab, MATLAB, and other data analysis platforms
  • Design and support metrology-related fixtures, tooling, and CAD-based solutions as needed
  • Maintain an organized, efficient, and compliant metrology laboratory environment
  • Spend at least 50% of the work week onsite supporting metrology operations, equipment, technicians, and collaborative engineering activities

Must Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and dimensional measurement concepts
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation
  • Experience planning tests, collecting data, and analyzing results
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis methods and quality data evaluation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings clearly
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and other technical software tools for data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative environment
  • Experience working with precision measurement equipment in a laboratory, manufacturing, or engineering setting

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), multi-sensor metrology systems, or optical measurement equipment
  • Familiarity with confocal microscopy, white light interferometry, CT scanning, SEM, AFM, or similar advanced metrology technologies
  • Experience with Minitab, MATLAB, Python, or other programming and data analysis tools
  • Experience manipulating large datasets using Power Query or similar data management tools
  • CAD design experience for fixture or tooling development
  • Technical Associate Degree in a related field
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, molding, or process improvement environments
