Client Services at Valon

The Client Services team represents Valon in all types of client interactions. Whether coordinating new client onboarding or acting as our clients’ main point of contact once they’re up and running with Valon, the team ensures client needs are consistently being met in a timely and accurate manner. As Valon continues to scale and onboard additional clients with their own unique needs, this team will continue to play a critical role in ensuring our clients are satisfied with the services provided.

About the Role

We’re seeking a Reporting Data Analyst to support and enhance data-driven reporting across the Client Services team. This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing client reporting processes to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable insights are delivered both internally and externally. The Reporting Data Analyst will work closely with internal teams as well as directly with clients to understand reporting requirements and translate them into automated data solutions. You will play a critical role in managing data pipelines, building and automating dashboards, and delivering regular and ad hoc reports that support client needs and business objectives. In addition, you’ll help ensure data integrity, streamline reporting workflows, and contribute to improving the overall client experience through data transparency and operational insights. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and experienced in managing complex data sets and reporting tools, preferably within the mortgage servicing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain recurring internal and client-facing reports and dashboards using tools such as Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improving servicing operations performance.
  • Automate routine reporting tasks to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Work closely with internal teams to gather reporting requirements and ensure data solutions align with business and client goals to reflect specific metrics, KPIs.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies or reporting issues.

Ideal Background

  • Previous experience in cross-functional reporting analyst roles, bonus points if experienced in servicing client support reporting roles
  • Thorough understanding of mortgage servicing concepts, including, but not limited to, subservicing contracts, investor guidelines, and the responsibilities associated with MSR ownership
  • Advanced experience working with Google Suite, Jira, Looker, SQL
  • Bachelor’s degree

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience at a mortgage servicer or financial technology company.
  • Previous experience working with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project (bonus points if you have experience with creating and refreshing slide decks linked to SQL tables!)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot a wide array of ambiguous problems (client requests rarely repeat!)
  • Ability to work with, lead, and consult with all levels in the organization

This Base Compensation pay range applies to our New York City located staff and may differ according to location. 

New York Base Compensation Pay Range

$72,000 - $95,000 USD
