Junior Platform Engineer (DevOps)

The Platform Engineers reduce friction and enhance the engineering experience through automation of processes, development of essential tooling, and collaborative problem solving.
We work with software engineers, product managers and other technical stakeholders, to understand development processes and identify opportunities for improvement. We also define, develop and implement steps to automate the continuous delivery of applications and operational infrastructure.
Your key responsibilities:
- Implement and continuously improve multiple CI/CD pipelines - from developer desktop to production deployment.
- Support and enable our team of developers as they build features for multiple technology stacks, by reducing friction and enhancing the developer experience.
- Work with our Cloud Operations and SRE teams to build next-generation cloud-based architecture.
- Work with software engineering and other stakeholders to understand current system operations and processes.
- Evaluate continuous integration, delivery technologies, software design and development methodologies identifying potential improvements.
- Contribute to application project management by performing and supporting key processes:
- Defining systems development requirements,
- Documenting and reporting on progress, challenges, risk management and change.
- Perform project post-appraisal to evaluate performance of revised systems against benchmarks and improvement expectations.
What you will bring:
- Familiarity with either (or a mixture of):
- Software, system and applications: Windows, Linux, AWS, Chef, Terraform, and Docker.
- Software development fundamentals: Ruby, Python, PowerShell and C# or Java.
- Familiarity with CI/CD methodologies and technologies: Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- General understanding of Lean, Agile and continuous delivery practices.
- Excellent collaboration-by-default and communication skills.
- Ability to:
- Evaluate and interpret technical and system problems.
- Identify opportunities for process and procedure improvements.
