Withum is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team based out of any of the following office locations (Princeton, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; Whippany, NJ; East Brunswick, NJ; Saddle Brook, NJ, New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Boston, MA; Woburn, MA; Braintree, MA; Providence, RI) or remotely in any of the following states (NJ, NY, PA, MA, RI). The Senior Accountant will assist in the daily operations of the accounting department. Prepare and analyze accounting data, produce financial reports and assist with various federal and state tax filings as well as establishing and engaging in proper accounting methods, policies and principles.

 How You’ll Spend Your time:

  • Assisting with the month close process for monthly financials
  • Assisting with preparation of monthly financial statements and month end reports
  • Ensuring proper classification of expenditures by reviewing g/l detail
  • Preparing asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Reviewing payables and calculating necessary accruals for revenue/expense matching
  • Maintaining fixed asset listings as well as recording depreciation and reconciling accumulated balances on a monthly/qtrly basis
  • Preparing monthly account reconciliations for AR, WIP, bank accounts, investment accounts and other balance sheet accounts
  • Confirming liability accounts for proper balances by reviewing and analyzing documents and transactions
  • Performing quarterly and annual payroll reconciliation
  • Reconciling account discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Assisting with annual budget process
  • Preparing special reports as requested by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data, account information and trends
  • Assisting payables team with monthly export of employee expense reimbursement g/l data, expense approvals and workflows
  • Assisting with due diligence and integrations related to practice acquisitions
  • Preparing monthly sales and excise tax filings
  • Assisting with annual tax planning and filing
  • Preparing year end Form 1099s for Withum vendors

The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required
  • Minimum 2 years experience in in public or private accounting
  • Experience with general ledger packages; MS Business Central a plus but not required
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Time management and deadline oriented
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile
  • Proficient in use of Excel and other Microsoft office Suites
  • Willingness to adhere to all company policies and financial budgets
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional movement about the inside of the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

The compensation for this position will vary by location. If you reside in NYC or Rhode Island please see below. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications. NYC ranges are from $90,000- $110,000

Rhode Island ranges are from $90,000- $110,000
