
Sr Manager Operations

WHO YOU ARE:
A Manager/Sr Manager leads larger or more influential groups at Zinnia, and interfaces with other functional teams to maximize efficiency, productivity and performance, ensuring all operations are running smoothly.
The Manager/Sr Manager is responsible for planning and directing the work of a group of Leads/associates, who in turn directly manage associates with an objective of managing day to day service delivery for our clients.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Assume the role of a leader, overseeing the efforts of associates and/or front-line manager in the department including, but not limited to :
o Hiring and termination decisions
o Supporting and coaching existing employees, and act as a mentor to less experienced managers, or individuals identified as future manager candidates
o Monitoring performance and conducting performance reviews
o Setting individual and team goals and participating in development of organizational goals and objectives
o Accountability for departmental expenses, budgets, and SLA performance
• Increased responsibility and decision-making; requiring creativity and innovation to find new solutions to complex issues
• Collaborate with functional teams across the organization to achieve common organizational goals and objectives by developing effective working relationships with other managers in zinnia Operations and other departments, as well as assisting Director as needed to work with Information Technology on appropriate business systems
• Build high level relationship with customers, including contract holders, agents, distributors, and carrier’s customers, by:
o Taking ownership in resolving customer, Rep or Broker/Dealer complaints, questions, system enhancements and other administrative issues.
o Ensure complete research and analysis of rep/client issues, providing any necessary problem resolution.
• Accountable to implement and develop new procedures and workflow processes to support corporate goals and objectives.
• Accountable for collecting, documenting, and interpreting information for Macro Measures for performance, incentives, and other needs, creating reports as necessary using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, among others.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
• Bachelor’s degree required and preferred 7+ years of specific job-related experience; may be substituted with a minimum of 10+ years’ combined experience within the financial services industry, training, or education. Industry education classes or work toward related industry designations desirable.
• 2+ years of management experience including but not limited to selection, performance management, coaching, development, and training; a minimum of 2 years of work experience within financial services--specifically with customer interaction and client support.
- Past experience in handling back-office requirements, including both financial and non-financial customer requests such as redemptions, systematics, exchanges, RMDs and more complex transactions.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment, with strict timelines for financial transactions, always aiming to deliver as expected while minimizing financial exposure.
• Demonstrated proficiency in multiple functional and/or performance areas. Performance areas may include annuity administration, distribution administration, life insurance administration, new business, customer service and delivery services
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced work environment that requires the ability to multi-task and make critical decisions
• Proven leader with excellent oral and written communication skills and strong motivation skills.
• Proven ability in analysis, critical problem solving, decision making and business acumen, as well as in exhibiting self-initiative, teamwork, time management and organizational skills.
• Systems knowledge across broad spectrum of platforms and software including Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred
• Six Sigma working knowledge and completed coursework
• LOMA or other industry certifications
