Position Overview:
Zynga is looking for a highly motivated Lead Technical Program Manager/Lead Producer to join our outstanding Zynga Mobile Game Tech division. The immediate area of responsibility would be leading the Systems team; however, as you grow into the role, you will own additional initiatives/teams. This position will own overall project planning, including schedule management and capacity planning. As a team lead team you should inspire and empower pods while ensuring that projects are completed successfully and in alignment with org objectives.
Under the direction of the Director of Program Management, you will work with engineering and product management leadership, other producers, and game/partner teams to balance a set of commitments with predictable execution. You should be able to facilitate tough trade-offs along the way, take care of any team conflicts, and be tactical enough to know when to roll up your sleeves. You should proactively spot areas for improvement, then energetically drive those improvements all the while encouraging collaboration and common purpose within the team. What You'll Do:
- Build and manage the team's roadmap, schedules, and capacity plans and ensure efficient delivery of all projects.
- Provide guidance and goals for all pods in the team. Work closely with pods to establish clear objectives and important metrics, ensuring they are in line with overall organizational goals.
- Hold the team accountable to enforce project deadlines assertively, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Take the lead in identifying dependencies, risks, and issues, and work with customers, partners, and team members to develop and implement effective strategies to mitigate them.
- Make timely and firm decisions to ensure that key objectives and prioritized commitments are delivered on time.
- Manage and mentor a team of Project Managers/Producers, supporting standard methodologies, ensuring the delivery of quality work, and fostering professional development.
- Lead and drive continuous process improvements in project management methodologies, enhancing efficiency, and effectiveness across all of Mobile Game Tech.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication regarding objectives, progress, and challenges to ensure goals are met.
- Initiate, cultivate, maintain, and lead others toward positive working relationships with internal and external organizations.
- Passionately articulate goals and team principles to help form a stimulating and fun work environment and culture.
- Work closely with team members, customers, and partners across time zones in North America, Europe, and India.
What You Bring:
- 8+ years program/project management experience
- 5+ years experience leading technology-focused agile scrum teams and comfortable working in a hybrid waterfall/agile setting
- 2+ years experience in people management
- Demonstrate outstanding organization, communication and leadership skills
- Ability to navigate complex scenarios with customers through the use of tact, conflict resolution, and bargaining skills
- Expertise in JIRA or similar project management tools
- Expertise in data analysis
- Ability to lead under ambiguity, balancing multiple work-streams and priorities
- Must be self-directed, detail oriented, and a problem solver
Bonus Points:
- Computer science or technical degree
- Agile certifications, PMP certification
- Comfortable switching between strategy and tactics depending on the scenario
- Experience running a team who works on projects and supports live services and products simultaneously
- Experience collaborating with teams responsible for Cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes orchestration, as well as DevOps and CI/CD pipeline management.
