Sr Project Accountant
Summary
The Project Accountant is primarily responsible for ensuring and validating the program financial data integrity, adequacy and accuracy, prior of using data for billing, costing, and other reporting purposes. Additional responsibilities include providing financial insights to Finance and projects stakeholders.
In this role, you will interact internally with cross-functional team. You will also be responsible for analyzing and interpreting material and labor costs, rates and factors used in our various business systems, tools and software, to appraise program operating results in terms of profitability, organization, and performance against budget and forecasts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Accounting:
Reconcile projects transactions across business systems to ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability of projects financials and accounting data.
Review and ensure proper accounting coding within the company accounting system.
Participate and support the Controller for the period-end closing as it relates to programs or projects.
Support accounts payable and receivables reviews, approvals and reconciliations related to projects.
Work with Supply Chain to accurately track procurements planning and execution.
Work with Supply Chain and Program Management to accurately perform accruals for material costs
Validate all Labor data, hours and rates to accurately perform accruals for labor costs.
Assess, validate and record appropriate journal entries to continuously maintain Projects Contract Schedule (Revenue, Costs, margins).
Reconcile project-related financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Responsible for preparing monthly Program reviews and assisting project stakeholders on variances.
Maintain and prepare Programs Cost Worksheets for weekly and monthly review.
Maintain projects financial risks, issues and opportunities over the project’s lifetime.
Maintain projects budgets and perform cost or trend analyses and profitability assessments.
Document financial actions by entering account information for future reference and lesson learn.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Support the preparation of Programs Financial forecast, annual budget and multi-year business plan.
Review monthly program reports to help identify trends, variances, and track performance by comparing actual results to budget and forecasts.
Maintain Financial Reporting process documentation as it relates to Revenue and COGS.
Assist in identifying improvements and recommend actions to Finance – Programs leadership.
Collaborate with Finance leadership and project stakeholders to develop financial plans.
Work on special projects to help drive improvement in business performance.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis or all other duties as assigned.
Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

Sr Accountant
Summary
The Senior Accountant is the gatekeeper of financial integrity and controls, serving to support the business through testing and standardization of financial control processes and policies under the guidance and oversight of the Controller. The position performs audit testing as directed to assist in assessing design, effectiveness of controls, accuracy of financial records, and compliance of various project requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Internal Control:
Conduct internal control testing in accordance with company internal control policy and pre-determined testing requirements.
Proactively collaborates with process owners to complete all required internal control testing by the deadline set by Safran corporate.
Discuss with and obtain action plans from process owners. Proactively follow up with process owners to ensure timely completion and closure of internal control action plans.
Review test results with Controller and maintain the control matrix and status.
Greenpoint Internal Audit:
Participate in planning, designing, and executing internal audits on Greenpoint financial statements and elements.
Review financial reporting and transactional processes to assist in identifying risk areas with respect to internal control and project contractual requirements.
Audit selected project spending, purchases, fixed assets, and expense reports to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, established company policies, and accounting principles (US GAAP and IFRS).
Support internal stakeholders on cost allowability matters related to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), other applicable regulations, and identifying unallowable cost according to government rules and/or contract terms.
Assist in refining of existing policies to address compliance gaps and developing new policies where necessary to address emerging compliance and cost opportunities.
General Accounting/Month End Close:
Participate in month end close and maintain balance sheet account reconciliation lead schedules.
Calculate and execute various account analysis. Prepare journal entries within a tightly controlled close schedule.
Work closely with the Controller to follow up with account owners to ensure all account variances and discrepancies are resolved in timely fashion before reporting results.
Perform bank reconciliation.
File various tax returns and censuses.
Set up and maintain AP vendor files in ERP, expense reporting, credit card system, and new vendor files.
Maintain fixed asset acquisition approval schedules, calculate depreciation, and ensure accurate NBVs for financial reporting.
Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

Materials Coordinator
Summary
Serves as the point of contact/liaison to ensure parts and materials required to support the manufacturing and installation of an aircraft interiors program are received on schedule. Coordinates activities between Planning, Stores and Modification personnel by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Receives material requests from Technicians and coordinates delivery with appropriate personnel.
Assists Stores Lead in the prioritization, coordination, and delivery of parts kits to hangar/shop floor.
Organizes kits/materials on hangar/shop floor based on point of use and scheduled activities to facilitate technicians.
Collaborates with Technicians to maintain kit cleanliness through daily spot checks.
Supports kit shortage status and fulfillment.
Manages floor stock usage and replenishment.
Supports program parts status meetings and provides visibility of mod center activities regarding parts required.
Supports AOG, engineering revisions, and overtime requirements as necessary.
Coordinates clearing of mod site material discrepancies.
Supports Stores personnel engaged in shipping, receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and equipment.
Picks up and delivers materials from various locations as needed.
Contributes to the materials management reporting systems to meet company requirements.
Contributes to a positive work atmosphere by displaying productive behavior and communication focused on building effective working relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
Wears safety equipment as required and follows safety guidelines/procedures.
Properly adheres to training and GHS/SDS guidelines when handling Hazardous Materials.
