THE ROLE

We are looking for a detailed-oriented, highly analytical and skilled Specialist, Ingredient Planner to join our growing global Supply Chain team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient flow of ingredients and raw materials throughout the manufacturing process for all AG1 products. This position is responsible for forecasting ingredient needs, coordinating with suppliers and co-manufacturers, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring that production has the necessary resources to meet customer demand. This role works closely with procurement, manufacturing, and external suppliers to optimize supply chain operations and avoid material shortages or excess inventory.

Reporting to the Sr Director, Planning & Inventory Management, this position will drive accountability with our co-manufacturers and suppliers to ensure optimal inventory levels throughout the supply chain.  The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and interpersonal skills with a background in forecasting, supply chain planning, and cross-functional collaboration. As this position supports our fast-paced global supply chain initiatives, you must be solution oriented, collaborative and resourceful in shaping recommendations that will better position our ingredient supply, and set our business up for success as we grow and scale.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Ingredient Planning

  • Develop and maintain accurate ingredient forecasts based on production schedules across multiple co-manufacturers globally, purchase orders, and ingredient inventory on hand.
  • Create and manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) reports to determine material needs and inventory requirements.
  • Plan for and manage material supply to meet production goals while minimizing stockouts and overstock situations. 
  • Participate in the S&OP process by providing insights on ingredient inventory to support forecasted demand

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels at our co-manufacturers and identify gaps or risks to ensure adequate supply without excessive surplus.
  • Work with the co-manufacturers to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Support ingredient replenishment and confirm safety stock levels as needed.

Supplier Coordination:

  • Collaborate with procurement and purchasing teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, evaluating lead times and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Address any supply chain disruptions, delays, or issues to maintain smooth production.

Manufacturing Support:

  • Provide manufacturing teams with material availability updates and ensure ingredients are ready for use in production processes.
  • Work closely with production schedules to align material deliveries with production timelines.
  • Address material shortages or overages and resolve discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze ingredient usage, forecast accuracy, and lead times to improve planning accuracy.
  • Prepare reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) on ingredient availability, inventory levels, and supplier performance.
  • Identify process improvements and recommend solutions to enhance ingredient flow efficiency.

 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in material planning, inventory management, or supply chain roles in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems (Netsuite experience is preferred, or SAP, Oracle, or other relevant software).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data for decision-making.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, supply chain optimization, and inventory management best practices.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in forecasting and planning.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • You have a no-compromises approach to the quality of your work and are a team player.
  • Comfortable working in a remote setting. Preference for candidates based in Eastern Standard Time (EST) to ensure sufficient overlap with our European team.
  • You are knowledgeable in all things MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Experience with consumer products in e-commerce, direct-to-consumer and/or CPG a plus.

AG1 is dedicated to providing equitable and competitive compensation & benefits packages. For this particular role, the base salary range is $69,000.00 - $86,500.00 and will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role. Base salary is one component of total compensation for this position. We provide a competitive mix of base salary, performance bonus, and stock option allocation for eligible roles.
