As a Supply Partner Development Engineer within our Supply Network Resiliency (SNR) group, you will be instrumental in driving and managing the performance of our supply base. Your role will focus on improving supplier performance from a quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability perspective. You'll be part of a team dedicated to addressing issues with underperforming suppliers, providing technical assistance, and ensuring robust production systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Performance Management: Drive improvements in supplier performance by addressing issues related to production systems, technical resources, and problem-solving capabilities. Aim to restore supplier health and enforce a zero-tolerance policy for disruptions impacting operations or customer satisfaction.
Technical Assistance: Provide expert technical support to suppliers, helping them resolve production issues and implement sustainable solutions.
Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with Supplier Development teams and other relevant departments. Leverage global knowledge and best practices to enhance supplier development efforts.
Crisis Management: Support the resolution of critical supplier issues to ensure a continuous flow of parts to production and aftermarket sites. Act quickly to minimize disruptions and secure reliable deliveries.
Operational Excellence: Drive improvements in supplier processes and production systems to prevent impacts on operations. Implement and promote best practices to achieve operational excellence.
Reporting To: Head of Supply Partner Development
Competencies Required:
Analytical Skills: Assess supplier capacity and investment requests accurately. Identify weaknesses and develop effective solutions.
Problem Solving: Address complex supplier issues with a sense of urgency and creativity. Develop and implement problem-solving techniques to resolve faults.
Multitasking: Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prioritize effectively to meet objectives and deadlines.
Communication: Provide clear, actionable feedback to suppliers. Maintain strong relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders to achieve common goals.
Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration skills. Drive initiatives and guide suppliers towards improved performance and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: Background in supply chain quality and development, production experience, or crisis management. Experience in the automotive or heavy commercial truck industry is preferred.
Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize tasks effectively.
Customer Focus: Dedicated to meeting both internal and external customer expectations. Strong commitment to delivering results and maintaining high standards.
Flexibility: Prepared to travel on short notice and adapt to changing situations.
Salary Range: $70,000-75,000
