Assistant Manager - Data Analytics (Operations)

About the Team:

At Aspire, Finance plays a strategic role in driving our business forward. Our Finance team consists of a wide range of crucial functions across 5 verticals: (i) Financial Controlling with Financial reporting, Audit support, Cost Management, Compliance and Risk Management and Tax planning, Reporting, (ii) Treasury, which is a core function for a Fintech with Cash flow and Liquidity Risk, Treasury Product, FX Risk Management, Treasury Operation and Treasury Risk Management, (iii) Data including Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and Data Engineering, (iv) Strategy & Planning, which covers strategic road map, long term planning, fundraising and FP&A and (v) Credit Risk including risk modelling and scoring, portfolio monitoring and credit control. Our Finance team engages in frequent strategic data analysis, research, and modeling to provide the best financial insights for critical business decisions, helping Aspire navigate the competitive landscape and capitalize on emerging opportunities. The team also plays a key part as the first user of our Aspire software, pioneer in Finance transformation, reengineering our internal process to stay agile while maintaining the internal control in a hyper fast growing environment.

About the Role

We are searching for an Assistant Analytics Manager - Operations to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of data analysis, working closely with our Onboarding, Payment Operations, Transaction Monitoring and Compliance teams to increase the team impact and efficiency, and provide invaluable insights and contribute to optimizing our business processes.

What will you be doing:

  • Performance Metrics: Create, test, and evaluate performance metrics that improves the efficiency and effectiveness of Operations team
  • Own the Talk: Analyze key trends and customer usage patterns and share outcomes with COO and Operations leaders to drive smoother and faster customer experience
  • Business Transformation: Own and implement new Operations and business metric definitions which act as a foundation for building the expansion strategy
  • Data Support: Respond to data requests from various teams and collaborate on building interactive dashboards that empower informed decision-making.
  • Customer Onboarding: Identify gaps and pinpoint issues in the current onboarding processes for a faster onboarding experience and making the onboarding team more efficient
  • Automation: Optimize data query processes to automate reports, saving time and improving efficiency
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Liaise with different business functions to translate technical specifications into actionable insights that address business needs.
  • Risk Management: Lead efforts to curb down fraudulent transactions and anti-money laundering practices run by customers by proactively identifying such scenarios and setting up alert mechanism
  • BI Solutions: Design, build, and enhance Business Intelligence solutions to enable data-driven decision-making.
    Insight Mining: Extract valuable insights from data and transform them into actionable plans to drive growth and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, statistics, economics, or similar quantitative discipline
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in business analysis, data analysis, reporting or business strategy role
  • Proficiency in MySQL for data extraction and analysis is mandatory.
  • Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence software, particularly Tableau, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with data monitoring and understanding of customer onboarding cycle.
  • Knowledge of Compliance topics (KYB/KYC, AML/CFT, Sanctions, etc.) and understanding of the Payments/Fintech industry
  • Knowledge of AML (Anti-Money Laundering) regulations
  • Experience in leveraging third-party data from Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms such as HubSpot, and other messaging platforms like Intercom
  • Proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and Index/Match.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving, excel & data management skills including the ability to analyze and resolve complex problems using data.
  • Prior experience with data orchestration tools like Airflow and dbt is preferred.
  • A structured, critical, and analytical thinker with problem-solving skills.
  • Effective planning, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • The talent to facilitate collaboration among diverse teams within the organization.
  • Proven initiative in diving deep into datasets to uncover insights.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects from different stakeholders simultaneously.
