About the role

2025 AuctaneU Summer Internship Program

Applicants must be currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited university 

Interviews: On a rolling basis through March, 2025 

First Day of onsite Orientation: June 3, 2025

Last day of the Internship Program: August 7, 2025

This is a paid internship 

Ability to work 40 hours per week (except for the week of July 4th)

Position is hybrid in Austin, TX (Monday & Friday remotely & Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in-office) 

This is an internship role within the Marketing department.

What will you be doing?

  • Conducting In-Depth Research: Explore the latest open-source marketing mix modeling (MMM) tools, including Meta's Robyn, Google's Meridian, and others, to evaluate their methodologies, capabilities, and alignment with organizational needs.
  • Recommending a Path Forward: Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations for an internal MMM framework, balancing usability, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Data Collection & Aggregation: Gather and integrate data from various sources (e.g., media spend, sales, customer data), ensuring all relevant inputs are centralized for analysis.
  • Data Cleaning & Preparation: Address data quality issues, such as multi-collinearity, missing values, and outliers, to create a robust dataset ready for modeling.
  • Building the Foundation for MMM: Assist in spinning up a foundational MMM environment, including configuring tools, setting up workflows, and documenting processes for long-term use.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with analytics and marketing teams to understand business needs, share progress, and align on project objectives.

What are we looking for?

  • Passion for Data Science & Marketing Analytics: You’re excited about using data to solve complex business problems and eager to learn about marketing mix modeling.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: You have experience with data manipulation, cleaning, and analysis, and you’re comfortable working with large, messy datasets.
  • Proficiency in Programming: Familiarity with R is a must, and experience with libraries like the tidyverse is a big plus. 
  • Knowledge of Statistics: You understand concepts like regression, multi-collinearity, and time series analysis, and can apply them in a practical context.
  • Curiosity About Open-Source Tools: You’re eager to dig into tools like Meta Robyn or Google Meridian, with a willingness to experiment and evaluate their potential.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: You enjoy tackling challenges and thrive in figuring out solutions to complex data and modeling issues.
  • Attention to Detail: You’re meticulous about ensuring data quality and accuracy in your work.
  • Communication Skills: You can clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, making your insights accessible and actionable.
  • Self-Starter Attitude: You’re proactive, resourceful, and ready to take ownership of your projects from start to finish.
  • Team Player: You enjoy collaborating across teams, gathering input, and sharing your progress to keep everyone aligned.
  • Experience with Marketing Analytics: Prior exposure to marketing data, attribution modeling, etc.
  • Advanced Programming Skills: Knowledge of SQL, as well as experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP) or data visualization tools like Tableau or Looker.
  • Strong Statistical Knowledge: Familiarity with advanced modeling techniques, such as Bayesian models or machine learning approaches, for marketing optimization.
  • Hands-On Open-Source Experience: You’ve already tinkered with open-source analytics or marketing tools and can bring insights from real-world experimentation.
