Axle is seeking a Content Manager to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supporting the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) located in Rockville, MD.

Responsibilities:
-
Develop a web content strategy that encompasses the goals of a federal agency and aligns with the agency's image

Cooperate with internal and external teams to create web content and monitor its effectiveness over time

Manage the daily activities of a content team composed of writers, graphic designers, videographers, and other industry professionals

Maintain a content marketing calendar that schedules all aspects of the creation and delivery of content

Use target keywords to write search-engine copy that is optimized for search engines (SEO) while remaining entertaining and informative

Familiarize with agency’s brand ideals and website to create content that supports their objectives and desired identity

Oversee a content production team's creation and management of targeted content for the agency's website

Stay abreast of current best practices in the industry
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field

Minimum 5 years of experience working in a federal environment

Ability to conceive fresh and appealing ideas for new content that establishes or supports the agency's vision

Expertise with using SEO best practices to write creative copy that includes effective keyword placement
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a good command of the English language

Experience with social media engagement strategies and best practices

Strong skills in creating original content that targets a specific audience and meets the agency objectives

Basic technical knowledge of MS Office

Experience managing contact call center technicians, tools and systems a big plus

Previous NIH or federal experience is a plus
