Sr. Revenue Analyst

Work Mode: Hybrid - Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check. 

Essential Job Duties

As a Revenue Analyst, you will sit in the Revenue Operations organization to deliver a key value to BambooHR by ensuring that our decision-making is centered around the performance of our go-to-market engine. Your work will drive growth and profitability through the insights that influence our strategy. You’ll be involved in many of the critical decisions to capitalize on our market investment and return the highest yields. You will essentially be the brains behind the decisions we make for our revenue motion.

In this role you will: 

  • Partner closely with the Sales Leadership Team, providing in-depth analysis and actionable insights to improve processes and drive bottom-line results
  • Partner cross-functionally with our data engineering, FP&A, and Product teams on sales analytics
  • Build operational forecasts and run strategic funnel analysis - highlighting the sales and marketing funnel to determine opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness (ensuring the sales team has the pipeline needed to meet goals and achieve the needed conversion rates)
  • Analyze the KPIs and unit economics of our sales model to identify risks/opportunities to focus on for improvement
  • Analyze trends and variances across sales segments, product categories, pipelines, etc.
  • Leverage data to tell a story and present it through data visualizations in compelling dashboards and reports
  • Build and own the data sets that sales leaders and teams use to actively manage their businesses
  • Meet with stakeholders to scope future projects and manage expectations on timelines
  • Function as an integration point between data and financial teams to help set expectations on capabilities, projects, and initiatives. Ensure compliance to revenue recognition standards.
  • Assist in preparing recurring reports, such as Monthly Business Reviews, forecast meetings, leadership summaries, etc.
  • Function as the expert on data for the revenue organization, including data architecture for systems of record and data consumption systems
  • Operate as the “source of truth” for data and insights 

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Sales Analytics Experience: You have 5+ years of experience in prior strategic analytical roles, with at least a few years heavily focused on sales analytics (an understanding of the SaaS sales funnel and GTM strategy is very important).
  • Coding Skills: You know how to create  SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data. You have used Python professionally and are skilled with several associated libraries. 
  • Tableau Skills: You consider yourself a wizard in Tableau - you can whip up compelling and clear data visualizations and analytics with ease.
  • Excel Skills: You can often be found building things in Excel and calling it fun!
  • Salesforce Exposure: You understand how to get data from Salesforce.com to provide reporting and inform dashboard creation.
  • Executive Presence: You bring confidence, understanding, and empathy to cross-functional partnerships and are comfortable working directly with senior leadership teams.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Adept at influencing and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve successful outcomes, even when team members do not report directly to you.
  • Business Acumen: You have a strong understanding of general business operations, and the ability to model those areas, while inserting the data and intelligence to make them better.
  • Strategic Thinking:  You're a strategic thinker with the ability to connect to the big picture while working in the sometimes ambiguous details 
  • Storytelling: You know how compel action through storytelling based upon what the data is telling you, without being biased
  • Problem Solving: Skilled in breaking down complex and ambiguous projects into clear, actionable steps and tasks.

  • You have exposure to and a general understanding of other dependent systems of record, such as: Marketo, LeanData, SalesLoft/Outreach, CaptivateIQ, Adaptive, Netsuite

  • You have a degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Business Intelligence/BI, Data Science, or a related field
