What You'll Do

Senior Sales Operations Manager is a pivotal role within BambooHR’s Revenue organization, responsible for driving the most visible and complex strategic initiatives that enhance the overall performance and scalability of the company's sales operations. This senior-level individual contributor role involves independently developing and executing strategic plans, optimizing sales processes, and collaborating cross-functionally with senior leadership and business partners to align sales strategies with broader business objectives. Senior Sales Ops Managers play a key role in analyzing complex data and abstract issues to provide actionable insights, leading change management efforts, and mentoring junior team members. Ideal for a seasoned sales ops professional with strong business acumen, project management capabilities, and influential thought leadership, this position is crucial for ensuring the Revenue org operates at peak efficiency and effectiveness, ultimately contributing to the achievement of the company's revenue goals

A little context about our Sales Ops team: We are an integral part of the Revenue organization, reporting up through the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Our team is organized for both sales segment and divisional support, and we work closely alongside Sales Enablement and all key sales functions to streamline processes, drive efficiency, and enable the success of our sales teams. By supporting strategic initiatives and optimizing sales workflows, we ensure alignment across all revenue-generating departments, ultimately contributing to the growth and success of the business.

Now onto the specifics! Your primary essential functions will be: 

  1. Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives that align with overall business goals and revenue objectives. This involves working independently to create detailed plans, setting priorities, and ensuring that execution is aligned with the company's sales strategy.
  2. Sales Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve sales processes for efficiency and effectiveness. This includes analyzing existing workflows, implementing best practices, and introducing tools or methods to ensure the sales team operates at peak productivity.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, Marketing, Finance, IT, and other departments to ensure alignment of sales strategies with broader business objectives. This requires influencing stakeholders, driving consensus, and ensuring sales teams are equipped to execute on shared goals.
  4. Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze complex sales data to uncover trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Provide actionable insights to leadership and the sales team to drive better decision-making, forecasting accuracy, and performance optimization.
  5. Change Management & Mentorship: Lead change management efforts for Sales Operations, including introducing new tools, processes, or methodologies. Additionally, mentor and guide junior sales ops team members, fostering their growth and developing a high-performing Sales Operations function.

Related duties include:

  • Work within our established Sales Operations team to achieve optimal results.
  • Partner with assigned selling teams and senior leadership to proactively identify, prioritize, and drive strategic revenue-enabling initiatives.
  • Drive complex projects to completion within a framework that ensures quality and adoption.
  • Document and update project progress to stakeholders and leadership regularly, including wrike, emails, presentations, etc.
  • Develop organized and purposeful scrum sprint plans & comprehensively document sprint retrospectives
  • As needed, provide front-line support to selling teams by responding to various requests (e.g., systems troubleshooting, report creation, deal arbitration, sales administration tasks, etc.)

Estimated Time Management: 

  • 60%: Strategic Project Management (identify, diagnose, scope, analyze, drive, execute, report)
  • 30%: Meetings and Administrative 
  • 10%: Tactical Needs (ad-hoc sales support tickets/messages)

* Note that the daily responsibilities of this role are flexible as some seasons, initiatives, and functions will require more tactical work and others more strategic. Additionally, assigned sales function(s) and associated needs are likely to change over time.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

This is a senior IC role within the SalesOps team. Here’s what you’ll need to be successful in this position:

  • Sales Operations Experience: You have 5+ years of direct experience in Sales Operations (SaaS environment preferred).
  • Sales Knowledge: You’ve developed robust, SME-level understanding of sales processes, revenue funnels, and customer lifecycles.
  • Salesforce Skills: You have strong experience working within Salesforce CRM.
  • Strategic Partner: You are a trusted advisor and internal consultant to senior stakeholders and can effectively facilitate strategic discussions and meetings.
  • Influence Skills: You’re able to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts to others and motivate change, without direct authority—including with senior- and executive-level leadership!
  • Problem Solving Approach: You’re able to not only identify problems and issues, but also conceive and propose a number of potential solutions.
  • Communication: You communicate and present professionally and effectively in all forms
  • Affinity for Data: Your natural inclination is to seek out data to inform your decisions, rather than going with your gut.
  • Diagnostic Thinking: You dig deep and identify root causes instead of jumping to obvious conclusions or just treating symptoms.
  • Project Management: You’ve developed incredibly strong project and time management skills and can see multiple highly complex initiatives through from start to finish. (And you also ruthlessly prioritize when balancing multiple projects! )
  • Operational Passion: You take pride in your work and love finding inefficiencies and coming up with innovative solutions that sometimes challenge the status quo - it fuels you! 
  • Education: You’ve earned a Bachelor’s degree (or have equivalent experience).

  • Tech Stack Proficiency: Have used and understand a variety of tools used in Revenue organizations (we primarily use Salesforce, Salesloft, Chili Piper, LeanData, and Attention; Wrike for project/task management)
  • Certifications: You’ve earned certifications in project management, Salesforce,  Salesloft, Chili Piper, LeanData, or Six Sigma (or maybe even have an MBA!).
