Sr. Manager, Deal Desk
Please Note: This is a Utah-based hybrid position which will require some regular in-office days each week. Additionally, employment with BambooHR is contingent on passing both a background and credit check.
Essential Job Duties
As our first-ever Sr. Manager, Deal Desk, you will have the unique opportunity to build BambooHR’s deal desk strategy, processes, and team from the ground up. The function you build will drive efficient deal management across BambooHR as you work with various teams (sales, finance, accounting, etc.) to implement effective deal structures and pricing strategies.
You will focus on:
- Designing the Function: You’ll holistically design our deal desk function - including deal strategies, negotiation levers, workflows, approval and escalation processes, etc.
- Day-to-Day Deal Desk Operations: You’ll manage daily deal desk operations, including evaluating and approving requests and providing strategic consultation to Account Executives during deal proposals.
- Business Advisement: You will serve as BambooHR’s subject matter expert on all things deal desk - partnering closely with sales leadership and Account Executives on complex or competitive deals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: You’ll act as a liaison between sales and finance to ensure alignment on deal strategies, assessing financial implications and revenue recognition for complex deals.
- Process Improvement: You’ll continually identify and implement process improvements to boost sales productivity and increase deal desk efficiency.
- Reporting: You’ll regularly prepare and present reporting on deal desk performance and key metrics.
- Leadership: Over time, you will build the deal desk team through hiring, training, and mentoring team members.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Experience: 5-7+ years in finance, deal desk, legal, or sales operations, ideally in B2B software sales.
- Deal Desk Knowledge: Strong understanding of SaaS agreements, multi-element sales agreements, and deal desk best practices.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Excel.
- Leadership: Multiple years of leadership experience, with a track record of building and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: An ability to build relationships of trust across departments, generating buy-in and alignment when initiating change.
- Problem Solving Skills: Strong research and analytical capabilities, with an ability to generate creative solutions to a variety of business challenges.
- Building Mentality: Enthusiasm for driving change and designing new systems, processes, and teams.

- Experience in developing business cases and creating presentations for executive teams
- Proven track record of successfully building new teams and functions
- Exposure to a variety of company sizes, industries, and growth stages in past roles
